Cureton's Volley What a load of gash. So much for the Adkins 'football revolution'. Lets play tippy tappy at the back under pressure, and then when we have time lets hoof it. At least under Brian it was consistent AND effective*.

*In the Championship - where we are now, and destined to stay with these tactics.

It's going to take a while for us to catch up for the lack of footballing evolution under McDermott.

.

this is so one eyed

brian never had a chance to evolve anything
forced time and again to make changes, and tactical decisions on a pragmatic basis, due to players being sold from under him, and being left short in various areas.
when he had the players he was tactically fine, and played in many varied ways.

he tried to introduce new shape/tactics early in the prem. but was forced to go defensive, and route one, because we were having hugely entertaining thrashings where we were going at teams full on, scoring, but conceding more

a good manager recognises when pragmatism rather than sticking to dogma is required.

thats why rodgers had to go.
and im hoping it wont be the same with nigel

I don't think he purposefully went "route one" rather that it is a consequence of losing games that players become less comfortable on the ball and are less likely to try something different.

Genuine LOL at being called "one eyed" by Brendy

So Brian was tactically "fine", the poor bloke was just "forced" to go route one because we were suffering "thrashings".
