It's time to play the game...

In this case the game is football.

St. Brynjar
Huntley & Palmer Player of the season so far for me. Class above this league which he proved last season with Brighton and now this season with us. Our shrewdest signing at left back since Nicky Shorey

Will never be forgiven for refusing to play for us in my eyes. Shambles

But like him or loathe him I'm sure you'll agree he's easily been our best and most consistent player this season.

Agreed. It's unlikely that our club will ever have a squad of squeaky clean blokes with no attitudes, particularly with the whole prima donna big ego lark that plagues modern football. Our first impression of him could have been better but he's been bloody good this season and seems enthusiastic and willing to work hard.

With regards to Bridge, I agree that he is a good reader of the game and is very capable of passing out of the defence. Perhaps it is too early to begin comparing him to Shorey, and perhaps Shorey's fairly unsuccessful spell back at the club has clouded some people's judgement. However, I agree that he looks a very good signing so far, fifty times more reliable than Kelly played at left-back which we saw a fair bit of towards the end of last season. His experience does certainly show.

SCIAG Although I think Shorey matched Bridge for about a season when we first got promoted, maybe even surpassing him (I'd be surprised if Bridge ever set up four goals in one match) and that was why Shorey beat him to the England squad.

I don't think Shorey ever beat Bridge into an England squad though. When he got in it was because there were a number of injuries and that's what gave him his chance.
