super darren caskey
marcusopp We want Malky! He's our type of guy.
Get him in before another club snaps him up!
Get rid of the orange twat currently in charge and watch us shoot up the table
Malky Mackay in!!!!

Would love to have Malky here but cant see him wanting to be at a shambles of a club like ours with the owner problems

he was just sacked from a club with ownership issues. no way he will want to immediately come to one with ownership issues and go through the same shit.

Would be harsh on Adkins if we got an injury time winner.

Is that supposed to be an insult or a compliment?

Really. I dont remember the likes of Gunter, Guthrie and the Pog contributing too much when we won the league.

Of the players that do remain, then Gorkks, and Jobi are way past their best, and Jem, Legde and Roberts have been on the treatment table for some time and will be for months to come. The only player when we won the league who can contribute and is at a similar level to then is Alex Pearce.

Cummings?
Federici?
Le Fondre?

Not saying all these players should be starting, but certainly for the likes of Feds if it's the case that Adkins thinks McCarthy is better than a keeper that's previously won the league then he can't very well complain about his options, can he?

Still won the league, though. (Even without PL standard players that you list above.)

I like the overall concept of Adkins. He got Southampton playing some decent stuff but it was, from what I remember (I'm not an avid follower of Southampton FC), very much of a case of we will outscore the opposition and not built from sound defensive foundations. Problem is, he doesn't have the players at Reading right now to replicate. We are not creating enough opportunities (and didn't under Brian either). Pog isn't Ricky Lambert, we have no equivalents to Lallana and Schneiderlin,

However, the big problem seems to be the players aren't playing for him / listening to him / capable of playing in NA's style (or all of these). In that situation it usually means a manager is let go. I doubt that will happen until the ownership situation remains unresolved.

I do feel a bit sorry for the bloke as well. Clearly didn't get the investment he wanted (was promised) to overhaul the squad in the summer, and with a couple of players forced upon him, he's had to make do with what's he's got. He's continued to stick to his principles but I wonder how long it is before he decides to go a different route for now? Perhaps once February is here and he's stuck with the same players?

Good post & agree with it. I just hope he gets a chance to bring some players in as I want him to succeed here.
