Top finish? Took a massive deflection didn't it?

Well maybe that's what he was going for.

If you call the keeper's failed attempt to keep it out a deflection then possibly, but it was always going in.

From my angel in the West Lower it looked like a deflection, However the replays show it was going in and the keeper got a hand to it which changed the path slightly but didn't stop it going in.

Not to take (too much) away from NBlackman - it did take a significant deflection that looped it up and over the keeper. I was sat in the Lower West too, almost in line and behind him (oo-er).

The angle of our TV cameras meant that it didn't realise register when watched back on the Football League show as it was almost precisely the 'right'a angle to disguise it.

Looked like a nasty bit of swerve on it off his foot to me. No idea if it was intentional or serendipity.

Thought his control and jink into the box just before Gorkss / Akpan's goal (can't recall which) was really nice shame he went down under some contact from the defender or he might have tucked that away too.

If you look at the extended highlights on Reading Player they show the shot from the side which shows a deflection which made the ball loop upwards so the goalie could only get a fingertip to it

Massive deflection was the reason it beat the keeper. If you can't tell from the video then ask yourself why the ball was dropping into the net when it hit it. Wouldn't have gone in otherwise.

Not to take anything away from the boy at all, that's part of football.

Haven't seen anything from tonight, but I just got around to watching the 10min highlights on ReadingPlayer.

Bloody hell, Blackman was brilliant on Saturday! I love how stoked he was for Cummings' goal, he looks strong and confident on the ball, picked out some great passes, was unlucky not to score from his header, and then hit the post with an almost-beautiful curler.

I've been a bit quick to judge in the past, but it's with pleasure that I prepare to eat my words about this guy

His goal tonight was quality. Shame he got injured in the process.

I have him as my avatar for a year, and as soon as I remove him, he starts to improve ten fold.

I take all credit for his rise in form.

His goal shut up that tit in Y24 that revels in every mistake he makes anyway. Tidy finish, could have scored earlier too.

Fair play to him. I've been one of his biggest critics, but sounds like he's played well in pre-season and taken that form into his first couple of games. Let's see if he can carry that on for a few months before we stop booing him.
