"Never go back" is true here,...on so many levels.

I think McDermott will jump back, he loves this club and if it wasn't for Anton we wouldn't have this scenario and we wouldn't have the orange one.

Now heres hoping someone comes in for the orange one whilst Leeds are in a mess (they could still go down really as they may get a 10 point deduction)

So Adkins how are we getting on with that 100 points and 100 goal season ? The club wanted to go straight back up as champions this year. We have a good squad even if a little thin but we do not play this total football that the manager wants we are a nothing team. No tackles no pressure no shots. But the manager thinks we play well ?. I personally think we have gone backwards in his year in charge. If he went I would be glad.

I wouldn't say we've gone backwards but we aren't playing anything exciting. This recent form may have something to do with question marks over the club at the moment

And the fans frustrations at the inability to produce the all conquering performances anto and adkins talked about. Or the good footballl. It's completely ruined what has otherwise been a reasonably successful if disappointing season.

Everyone talks like we're 15th not 6th / 7th

We are exactly the same point difference from top to being in the relegation zone. 6th place flatters to deceive.

Quite a few of our points have involved good fortune rather than quality. Pens, red cards, OGs, last minute deflection from a free kick, diving to win set pieces...

That's not unusual.

05/06
1) Reading 106
6) C. Palace 75
22) Crewe 42

Gap between first and 6th: 31
Gap between 6th and 22nd: 33

09/10
1) Newcastle 102
6) Blackpool 70
22) Wednesday 47

Gap between first and 6th: 32
Gap between 6th and 22nd: 23 (!)

12/13
1) Cardiff 89
6) Leicester 68
22) Peterborough 54

Gap between 1st and 6th: 21
Gap between 6th and 22nd: 14 (!)

Yes, the gap is often the other way around, but particularly in years with a runaway winner it's not surprising to see 6th be as close or closer to relegation than the title.

And everyone below us is closer to relegation than top place. We're where we are because we've been better than 18 teams across the season so far.

+1.

I have sympathy for McDermott, not just for his sacking here, but for the fact he has to work up in Leeds.

Christ, pointing out that he's not doing a great job at Leeds is hardly mocking him, is it?

I think its an important point. Leeds are getting hammered every game and he only still has a job there because there is no money to sack him.

Falling out with players, poor formations, bad team selection, no plan B - all pretty familiar stuff.

Thank you for the days, but see you in the next life (artist / song)
