Blackman may not be a popular choice, but at least his pace poses the opposition a question.

This team.

But without Taylor on the bench. Maybe drop one of Gorkss or Hector (pref G), too.

I've hoped he'll come good for a while, but I just don't rate Blackman. Think he's particularly bad when he starts. But I used to think the same about Shane Long and was proved very wrong, so who knows!

I don't rate him that highly. However, I think he's a better choice for this away game than Pog.

Tanner made a comment earlier about enjoying the hotel life. U21's play Sunderland, but on Sunday. Pog wasn't supposed to play against Boro due to injury. Maybe he's being benched/rested again, this time with Tanner coming in for HRK.

They wouldn't play Tanner for 60 minutes (or whatever it was) on a Thursday night if they were going to start him on a Saturday.
Hope to see him involved in the squad though.

Despite being his number 1 fan, I'd be staggered if Tanner is in the 18 for tomorrow.

I thought BBC Berks said Morrison and Williams had late fitness tests tomorrow. Might have misheard though hopefully.

Start him? I think Blackman if fit is more likely to partner Alf. Tanner would only ever be on the bench, but he could well be. Hopefully Pog is OK to start tho.

Thought that was what you were suggesting.

I saw the discussion about Tanner yesterday and thought, "what about the U21 game against Tottenham", it was meant to be played last year (November IIRC). Well, that's who the U21s are playing on Sunday, not Sunderland (who we've already played)! So that comment from Tanner may suggest he has travelled up with the squad... Don't know if that was the reason he came off after 75 mins the other night, it was surprising, but it may explain it. Dolan did tell him something straight after as he was disappointed to be taken off.

Not sure I see him on the bench though, doubt he would have played for as long if that was the plan.

According to Charles Watts on Twitter 30 minutes ago, Danny WIlliams a major doubt for today.
Possibly why Tanner might have travelled. Fill the bench if necessary.

Which may well see a team of this:
McCarthy
Gunter, Pearce, Morrison, Obita
McCleary, Leigertwood, Akpan, McAnuff
Le Fondre, Blackman

Subs: Federici, Cummings, Hector, Drenthe, Taylor, Tanner, Pogrebnyak
