As the possibility of administration nears then the vultures (opps sorry, billionaires with deep pockets) circle. However things will move fast so expect a lot of jockeying for position. It's now a game of who blinks first. I still believe SJM will try to be as careful as he can and the loss of the carpark -not sure where hotel guests are supposed to park?- would be a small price to pay.

However the carpark itself isn't all that big so any plans would have to include the dome and those new pitches behind even then it's only a Costco and a bit sized area.?

not convinced of this yet

Mohit is another son of a billionaire...

Probably why he's not the preferred bidder

They would probably be looking to get rid of the Dome and build a replacement at Bearwood. Also I'm pretty sure a multi storey car park would be in the plans. Would be a bit of a problem on match days though...shoppers and football.....

Bids of £1 then. And people couldn't believe how bad the debt has got and how close we are to going bust. I preferred it when we couldn't quite believe it!

And people questioned me when I said it a few weeks ago

Nameless

Ian Royal I say in theory, just because it's at the latest valuation we have. I'm not convinced the club is hugely less valuable than three years ago. We're a bit stuck right now, but our tribulations are largely speculation and there are certainly ways we could sort it out, depending on how the summer goes.

Sparta: We had lots of debt when Anton bought his shares too. It's not like all of that £38m is new, significantly higher certainly. And as I said, half of what you say is pure speculation regardless of how you want to try and infer it as fact.

Fair point. How much debt did we have when SJM saved us and bought is for £1?

We had virtually no assets.....

We're available for £1 again. Point made.

One thing for sure if one of those bidders does not buy us hmrc will put in a winding up order. That is what they normally do.

Give us 3 weeks or so if rumours of bill owed are true.

multisync1830 If I go to a pub and buy a pint it doesn't give me the right to look at their books.. You're a punter with no rights past withdrawing support get over it.

 at the analogy. Come on you Weatherspoons.
By the way, I don't think you mean "rights" - "sanctions" is the correct word.
I am over it. I go to work to be treated like sh1t. Don't think I'll add the Madejski to the list.

Royal Ginger
winchester_royal The news coming out of Jonny Fordham is nothing short of bizarre.

Agreed. He just came out with this:

Jonny Fordham ‏@JonnyFordham 1h
AZ handed back his #readingfc shares WHO TO? WHO NOW OWNS THEM? in Jan and resigned from board. Samuelson playing a big part still WHY? HE WAS REPRESENTING ZINGY - IF ZINGY ISN'T AROUND THEN WHY IS SAMUELSON STILL AROUND?. Any deal will take time.

In a nutshell, who now owns the shares and why the feck do the club think the fans couldn't be given this basic information?

That's an interesting view; the footprint of the RFC site is much smaller than I would have thought - doesn't seem much scope for further development unless the dome went along with most of the car park. I would be worried about any potential new owner seeing us as more of a land deal.

Wouldn't mind a shopping centre if it meant a couple of bars next to the stadium.

looked up one of the billionaires supposedly in for the club and he was worth 3 billion! i would absolutely love to see the club be bought on the cheap, but the stipulation is that the debts are immediately paid off! would be brilliant business, and we can finally bring in some players and keep the ones we have that are quality and play the way adkins wants to play! hopefully the deal will go through rather quickly.

Build the new training ground and the dome can be removed imo.

I think the car park has to stay pretty much as is, the original deal with RBC and the planning permission stipulate it.

I'm out if this means the end of the park and ride service, not that I've ever used it.

I'd have thought there were more parking spaces at the Oracle on a smaller footprint, with retail units on the ground floor.
Not sure the match day buses would fit into a multi-storey car park though!

I've heard that the sticking point is that the new buyers have insisted abolishing the 'Back-the-boys-and-make-some-noise' guy and SJM is refusing to budge.
