Libertine Well the buyout saga has caught the attention of the Guardian who think we should be disconcerted as fans by our potential new owner's propensity to talk to the fans on Facebook. There are a lot of things that are disconcerting that have gone on with the club this calendar year, not sure where Facebookg8 ranks on the list...

I find it unsettling personally. It doesn't scream competence and experience.

Did he refuse your FB friend request Ian?

Worryingly, Samrit does mention a Coup in Thailand as being part of the reason for the delay in his open letter to fans....

Let's hope he ignores the cries on HNA for the club to keep us informed about stuff then ! This is a classic case of someone picking a negative stance for no good reason ! A couple of Facebook posts says nothing at all about his competence to run a club or a business, a look at whether he's a successful businessman or how he runs Police FC might tell you more. Likewise it's not hard to tell that he has no experience of English football, or the English media, but whether that is good or bad I have no idea. It seems pointless to jump to any kind of conclusion based on a couple of brief comments.

Don't be ridiculous. Next you'll be saying we shouldn't be writing off potential signings on the back of a couple of uninspiring youtube clips.

Can't believe Spring has been omitted from the list of bodies of water. Disappointed.

Actually it displays some very clever thinking - certainly more competent than having a few too many sherberts and spouting off.

He has decided that he wants to communicate with the fans but doesn't yet own the club so can't use the club's media. Now he could have talked to a journalist(s) and hoped that they passed the news/his thoughts on but then he would have no control on what they actually reported him as saying. By using his own social media account he has complete control over what is published and no one can misquote him (without being caught out doing so).

Thinking carefully what you want to say and then using (social) media that is completely under your control to say it suggests both competence and experience

I just hope that there is someone else close to a deal.

I was confident with Anton, nowhere near as confident with this lot.

and just keeps us viable

frimmers3 Or maelstrom.

Is a maelstrom not an effect on a body of water rather than a body itself?

Yes.

What about a swamp?

I reckon that's my least favourite body of water on account of the mossies.

I just can't take Facebook seriously as a platform for this sort of communication.
