Isn't he still being paid an enormous monthly sum by Pompey for another year or so?

Obviously he won't just be taking the money and doing nothing in return. I'd guess he washes the kit for them, does a bit of DIY round the ground and mows the pitch.

He was a lot better than Rosenior, given he was only there to drop in the occasional tidbit and looked a bit tense at his first appearance.

 What happened to all of the talk in cancelling his contract in 2012?

loved him as player. Always said he didn't like other footballers much as he thought they were mostly on ego trips. Probably a bit too intelligent for most. Looked a bit too earnest at first on tv but grew into it.Once his true personalty comes out think he could be a good pundit

I believe he told them to take a hike.

Think he took a big hike on it and agreed a much lower fee

Well yeah, it's obvious there was a reduction agreed. I thought that went without saying, unless anyone thought crazy Pompey had agreed just a £3k a week deal for an ex-PL striker when they were in the Championship. But cancellation, no siree.

Happy retirement Kits. Always liked him as a player, top bloke too. Came from nowhere and made himself. He loves Reading and regrets leaving, your always welcome back Kits.

Daaaaavid Kitson, what a bargain, what a bargain.

I don't think he's under contract til the end of next year. This is money he was owed, and guaranteed, when Pompey went bust. iirc the "new" club agreed staged/deferred payments with nearly all the playing staff as part of the deal to keep them going.

Thought he was decent on the telly. Hope it means Claridge has gone.

There's a picture of Dave coming out of Liam Gallaghers box at the charity Shield yesterday. 2nd one down.

Now, I'm not one to speculate but he's got the wild eyed thousand yard stare of a man who's spent the night snorting high grade cocaine. I can't believe Pompey are paying him £70k a week to get off his tits!

Have to say it's cheered me up seeing big Dave involved back at Reading again.
