Tommio The sun say we've had a bid rejected and palace are holding out for 3 million. Both us and Fulham are interested http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... -exit.html

Fulham? Is there 22 million strike force not good enough? After shifting 80 odd goals they should be spending there dosh elsewhere.

Do we actually have anyone who can hit the byline and feed him though? I've watched 1.15 of that video so far and his goals are exclusively from crosses or penalties.

We don't really have much width. Even with everyone fit, HRK and McCleary like cutting inside. Blackman and Taylor aren't wingers, Edwards I'm not sure about and Obita's likely to be playing left back.

Who is going to win the penalties?

Edit: It got a bit better, but the vast majority were pens or crosses. Doesn't really play to our strengths.

He was playing centre back for Palace the other week in a friendly, so it's clearly a defensive signing ;)

£3million for a 30 year old who has just come back from a serious knee injury?

Decent enough scoring record, but with a transfer budget of supposedly £5-8milliom (even if that doesn't include wages) seems an awful lot to pay out.

Maybe, but if you look at the way we played last season and compare it to when we walked the league the first time the quality and number of crosses last season was woeful.

Plus, if that's an annual budget, that would be £2.5 - £4m per window? Right?

Didn't we have the most crosses in the league last year? Not saying they were good ones, mind.

That's right, £2.5m is half of £5m, and £4m is half of £8m

It seems someone is very proud of their maths GCSE

I had to use a calculator for that

Had a look at Whoscored.com, but you'd have to go through each player of each club to work it out now they've switched to this season and I don't know who was on loan when. And I'm not prepared to do that.

Well, this rumour went very quiet very quickly. Same with Dean Hammond.

Nah you can just do it by team. Reading were joint top with Brighton on 25 crosses per game.

I may be being dense, but I don't see any columns for crosses.

Got it.

Didn't really see much in the way of the type of crosses Murray was scoring from last season. You know, accurate, with the defence turned. More sort of hopeful, with the defence set. And of course, Jobi and Drenthe, who won't be playing and are yet to be replaced put in almost a quarter of our crosses combined and were both in in our top 5 most successful crossers by the stats.

My cousin seems pretty sure that he has seen Glenn Murray at the Mad Stad hotel today.

To be honest, he's not that reliable but I thought that I would share it anyway.
