I suspect if we had Bolasie, Zaha and Puncheon instead of HRK, Blackman and Post-injury McCleary, the Pog might be scoring a few tap-ins as well.

He wasn't great for us either. He fits in at Palace, that is where he wanted to be and we were the stepping stone he needed to get fit and get back to Selhurst Park.

Uke His shots at goal were misses
FTFY. He had a shocking habit is missing from close range.

Admittedly, he was better than the Pog in terms of scoring, but that's more of an indictment of the Russian than it is an endorsement of Murray. We'd be better off with fresh legs up front, or a change of tactics.

Pog:

spg = 1.5
off = 0.7
post = 0.0
on target = 0.5
blocked = 0.3

Murray for the first half of the season, Yakubu for the second. Big thanks to our Thai owners for their part in the continuing deterioration of Reading FC.

I fail to see how Murray can be seen as a deterioration when he was on course for a 20 goal season if he'd played every game.

I have to laugh at the posters on here that slagged off Murray. You all look bloody stupid now as he was comfortably the best striker we'd had at the club in years. :lol:

Good luck to him - he always looked a cut above the rest of the team when he played. We probably would be in the bottom 3 now if we hadn't signed him...

LOL at you.
Just imagine how good Palace will be when they sign someone who offers more than tap-ins and flukes.

Well once you've dug yourself a hole that deep I guess it's easier to keep on digging to the other side.

No the LOL is on you mate. Palace are on course for a top half finish & Murray is a huge part of that.

Behave.
Which of his 5 goals has been anything other than finishing off great balls/play from Zaha, Bolasie and Puncheon?

Zaha and Bolasie are top 4 team players on their day. As occurred when Palace got promoted, they make Murray look much better than he is.

But he does finish it off. That's his entire role, and it's exactly what Reading don't have half the time.

Pog: 1403 minutes, 6 goals
Murray: 1532, 8 goals

Barely any better. And had we spent the £25K per week on an attacking midfielder then perhaps Pogrebynak might have scored many more goals. It was a poor signing.

:?:

1403/6 = 1 goal every 233.8 mins
1532/8 = 1 goal every 191.5 mins

If my back of a fag packet maths is correct, that's almost 20% better for Murray. Barely any. :roll:

Those extra 2/3 goals would have got us how far up the league? :roll:

potentially 9 points there. And it's 3/4 not 2/3.

A solitary goal can only increase your take-home by a maximum of 2 points.

Kinda with PO here. He was decent enough and chipped in but dunno about "good signing" - he fooked off. And if he hadn't, how many more seasons could he have given us?

A real 'meh' bit of business all round imo
