+1 Numerous occasions where Hector made the tackle, won the ball where Morrison wouldn't have. Stick the 3mill in an ISA.

Can't speak higher of his performance today. Solid defensively, great on the ball. Have to admit with Morrison gone I thought we'd need a new centre back in, but on that performance Hector has earned that place.

Watched Hector up here in the North of Scotland last year, it has been mentioned on an earlier thread that it is a shit league up here, maybe, but he has the experience of playing in front of 50,000+ at Celtic park a couple of times, good to hear he done well today, this boy could be worth a lot of money in a couple of years.

He reminds me of a galloping giraffe. In a good way.

Morrison leaving is a blessing in disguise.

Apparently connelly and hudson were brilliant for cardiff today, so it looks like he will be warming the bench there.

+1 Nearly started a thread to this effect myself. He looked composed assured and more than capable today, as I said in the match thread he was immense.

Got caught the wrong side of his man a couple of times but apart from that he was excellent. So much so that apparently Anton F said he reminded him of his brother as a youngster.

Before i saw this thread I was thinking how long it would be before someone posted a "Hector was amazing, we don't need a new center back." All that based on one game!!

We DO need another center back, of that I am sure.

I remember a MichaelThorp playing a blinder in his debut a few years back and people were calling him the next Tony Adams. Where is he now?

He was brilliant today. I presume he might turn out to be one of those players who can look really fantastic for 85 minutes then make a critical mistake, so we mustn't get ahead of ourselves, but on the basis of that first half, he will be leaving Reading for an 8-figure sum, having already made his debut for England. He is as good as Siggurdson/Long/Curle/etc.

He did look good though, didn't he? The best player on the pitch?

10/10 today. Back in his natural position, a season of performances like today and he'll be POTS without a shadow of a doubt.
