Silly planning by the BBC. Clashing with Chelsea v Manchester United will impact hugely on viewing figures.

I don't think the BBC had much choice tbh - the kick off time would have be set by the FA

So knowing it was semi final.weekend why have a premier league game scheduled.
This is where the tv companies need to work.better together.
But they won't.

Agreed. It takes Reading somewhat out of the limelight as viewing figures for Chelsea v United will be much higher.

More a case of the PL doing what they like - it's the only competition in the world, apparently (and the self-appointed best).

I can understand having a KO time at 17:20 on a Saturday for viewing figures IF it didn't clash with a high profile game in the Premier League.

AND there will be many a smashed fan with the extra 2hrs or so drinking time before ko which will cause more problems for the police.

No they won't

Having said that it is LOLz that the FA make us play the replay 2 days after a league game because the Champions League say so but are more than happy to have a live premier league game at the same time as the SF of what they allege is their primary competition. It's not just clubs that diminish the FA cup

Exactly but as said i don't think the BBC decided it was going to be a 5.20 kick off.

Viewing figures for S/F will be higher but ONLY because they will record the domestic viewers of the two channels. For obvious reasons, BBC will get higher figures......but many more people will actually watch the Chelsea v Man U game down the local....unless they happen to live in Reading or North London.....actually make that North London

I don't frankly give a gnat's chuff wether it's on TV or not or wether it will be as interesting as some other game that happens to be on at the same time.
