Bradford Pitch invasion fine?

by OldBiscuit » 01 Apr 2015 21:05

I'm not sure what the procedure is, whether or not there's a hearing or just a mandatory fine, but what is ironic and amusing that despite all round condemnation from the Club, Spectators and the national press, is that Reading Football Club are using a pitch invasion as the backdrop to their on-line tickets site page as many of us have seen in the last week.

Don't you just love it?

We didn't get fined for any previous pitch invasions so not sure we'd get fined for this one.

It was very different to the Villa situation where the invasion disrupted the game

There will not be a fine for the pitch invasion !!

End of season. Play-offs reached, promotion gained, relegation avoided etc etc. Happens all over the country.
How many fines are dished out ? None.

End of thread.

Did they ever manage to catch the dick-head and Will95's friends with the smoke bomb?

There is a difference between the Forest invasion and the Bradford 'invasion' though. Forest secured promotion and came about from a relatively late goal, it was an outpouring of emotion.

We were coasting to victory against Bradford and despite requests from the club to keep off the pitch, a moronic minority decided it would be a good idea to make one of the most feeble pitch invasions I've ever seen.

This resulted in a disappointing end to a brilliant night, where supporters were unable to celebrate an historic victory with the players.

It's this behaviour that may see us get a fine, plus the fans rushing over to the Bradford fans to goad them.... had our fans just invaded the pitch in celebration I would have said no fine.

Sir John Madejski was on Meridian TV and while I can't recall his exact words, the gist of it was he understood why fans felt the need to celebrate with the players on the pitch and he didn't have a problem with it/it wasn't a big deal, but he did add that he probably shouldn't have said that.

The whole spectacle of that evening was like a cross between a Carry On film and a kiddies carnival. The only things missing were that it wasn't half way up a pier on a sunny Bank Holiday.

The club should be fined for that alone.

^ Yep. Bad enough we had Sweet Caroline rammed down our throats over the tannoy a dozen or more times on the night but the PA man also played circus music when that utter pillock was doing somersaults on the pitch. Sums our club up really, your description of it being like a carnival rather than a football match was spot on. No wonder crowds are dipping, not everyone cares for the club's insistence of promoting a family atmosphere above all else. Where were these families when we played Bury on a Tuesday night and only 5,500 packed out the ground :?:

The argument about families makes me laugh, there's no way my (or most peaoples) kids would be up til gone 11 (by the time they get home) so it's not a reasonable argument.

It's modern day football. Women are being more in control of their men, so they want to join them and bring along the kids. Ban women and children from matches and see the atmosphere improve.

Women. Know your limits.

Well done to all those concerned then, you've almost certainly cost your club money.

Make them pay the fine. Never mind #FlagsforFederici lets have #FiversfromF*ckwits. The fat w@nker doing the roly-polies can pay five grand for his own particular brand of ****wittery.

I would imagine that there will still be the usual halfwits who say things like "What damage did it do?" and "We are entitled to go on the pitch"

Well done to every moron who went on the pitch you have cost the club a substantial amount of money at a time when every penny counts.
