melonhead was at least a decent 20 mins

He was fantastic in that match while he lasted.

I'm sure I could put together an unstoppable 20 mins for the amount he's been paid in wages this season. TBH They could wax my balls live on TV for what he has been paid

LoyalRoyal22 Unbelievably bad signing. Why was he given a 2 year deal? Someone at the club should be accountable for this, and explain themselves

Anton was announced as a signing by Samrit's Thai Police football club, However they failed to get his registration in line for the start of the season and as a result he would have been sat on the sidelines all season.
I believe this is the reason he was instead offered a contract at Reading, A compensating him for the admin cock up, however he still ended up sitting on the sidelines all season.
For all we know, Samrit covered the cost as it fixed his mistake so it was not a footballing decision really, I doubt Adkins had any say in it.
Just my theory.

wingnut
Brum Royal I quite liked Scott Murray to be fair. I remember him destroying Forest (I think it was) in a 3-0 home win and being unplayable, but that might have been his high point.

Yep I remember that game too. Problem was it was his first game for us and our first of the season. His decline from that was fairly rapid and depressing and he was back from whence he came by the end of the following January.

Ah, the old Scott Murray Notts Forest chestnut where they played 2 central midfielders at centre back and 2 centre backs at full back because of an injury crisis. I don't think the full back stayed within 20 yds of him all game.

Murray's problem was that he was a League 1 flat track bully who never tracked back and had the heart of a pea.

Anton's not that bad, he's scored more goals for Reading at the Mad Stad than Danny Williams.

Brum Royal Yup, my bad.

Anton Ferdinand has to be our worst signing ever. 20 minutes is it he's played in pretty much a full season of being here now?

48 minutes in total, 45 minutes v Rotherham and 3 minutes of injury time at Norwich

Believe he was actually a "class above" in those 48 minutes but that was in the days of Noddy Adkins and the No Defence Show.

To be fair, he hasn't done worse than Zat Knight.

Forbury Lion
Silver Fox Worst
Signing
ever

and I include Scott Murray on that list

What was wrong with Scott Murray, he joined, he scored a goal or two. The problem was he was a left footed right winger (or something like that) and Pardew didn't like that idea, so he went back to Bristol City/Rovers, whichever.

However, Ferdinand deserves to be on the list along with Zat Knight, Mark Reilly, Emerse Fae, Paul Brayson etc

Pardew signed him then left and he wasn't very good because he got homesick for Bristol. He cost £600k.

Knights played four times as long in half the time.

Spotted: Anton Ferdinand not looking too happy in one of the boxes at last nights game, to be fair he was watching the game so the look on his face was understandable as most of the fans had it too.

It might be one of the finest 20 minutes I've ever seen in a Reading shirt.

So how much is he on a week, and are the Thais paying it or is it coming out of our budget

The amount that the Thais have invested in players and staff (essentially underwriting our wage bill and transfer activity) outweighs Ferdinand's wages. However, they would have invested that money anyway. There isn't really a difference between "coming out of our budget" and "the Thais paying for it".

Mark Reilly - signed for us, got homesick, left, probably didn't play.

Martin Keown & Less Ferdinand? - didn't do much on the pitch, but I imagine they improved the team behind the scenes.

Taken from Facebook, but very good! Here he is explaining why he made himself so big in the recent training ground photo by draping his arms over two players...

Hopefully the latter. We should wish death on nobody. Equally hope he never shows up alive or not at our place again. Waste of space.

I remember Mark Reilly playing for us at Macclesfield and being thoroughly out classed (to be fair though the whole team was). Of course if you make the distinction that there is a difference between putting the shirt on and running out onto the pitch and actually playing then he probably never did play for us.
