winchester_royal Not there but looks like Kuhl, Kelly, Nova, Tanner, and Liburd all start. Strong team. Will be a good test.

Looks like Kelly, Kuhl, Nova and especially Tanner are not in Steve Clarkes 1st Team Plans. Tanner seems to have not progressed as expected and will probably be loaned out as this is what Reading do.

Slightly surprised Nova hasn't been with the first team, Kuhl has been on the bench so don't think he is out of the picture but Tanner and Kelly must be a little concerned.
Clarke does seem happy to use the youngsters but inevitably some will get/take their chance before others.

Nova has been on the bench for all 3 pre-season senior games - as has Kuhl. Neither have had much game time, 9 and 27 minutes respectively but Nova is the only 18 year old that has been on the bench at all pre-season which suggests is highly thought of by Clarke. Would not be surprised to see both loaned out this year though although think we like U21s to do well and value the direct coaching we can give them until they are 20-21 - at this age they need to be out on loan or featuring in the first team. Is a big year therefore for Sean Long, Shane Griffin and Craig Tanner who are all 20 and do not appear to be as highly regarded as Fosu, Cooper, Stacey and Keown as they are definitely all on the fringe of first team.

paultheroyal I would say that fosu is in the first team now.

He's certainly not got much competition. I hope the fans show some patience and don't have too much expectation.

If hedoes play he's going to have some poor games for sure. It's a hard league and a hard position for consistency even for seasoned veterans

No Fixed Abode Why was the Swansea friendly played at Adams Park?

Because the Thais are going to demolish the Mad Stad and we will need somewhere else to play that is a more appropriate size.

partly to avoid playing on the new pitch for another week and partly as we are building links with Wycombe which include playing some U21 games there. I'd guess we may have players there on loan this season as well.

Yeah, sorry, I was being frivolous and Wycombe is clearly much more ITK.
Am looking forward to the new Tesco which is much needed in South Reading.
