Ascotexgunner Playoffs at least for us. We will be better organised and SC must know we need a striker badly. Find a decent striker and we will start seeing the dividends.

Sorry. That was good.

To be fair 7 other people think we'll at least make the play-offs.

Very even split between the other options. Nerd in me is looking forward to whether it changes.

I'm amazed that there seems to be a sense of realism amongst our fans...

Had some time to kill and walked past a bookie the other day so popped in to see if they were offering odds on us being relegated. They weren't yet, but they had us at 22/1 for the title. I remember seeing us quoted as 20/1 for the title in the summer of 2005 by 442.

We haven't got a oxf*rd hope in hell of winning the Championship.

Would you backed Bournemouth at the beginning of last season?

I wouldn't have ruled them out. They did, after all, finish top half the season before. Backing someone to win is quite different to saying they have a chance as well.

Anything can happen, especially if you get a bit of a run going and confidence starts to grow.

Best you can get at the moment is 6/1 at betfair and bet365, couple of the bookies are only offering 4/1

6-1 for what exactly? And 4-1 for what exactly? I mean, I could look but that would kind of negate the point of forums generally.

The fact that in the quoted post the odds for us being relegated were mentioned should be a pretty big giveaway...

No way in hell are we going down.

I'll offer anyone here 10/1 odds on that.

Ian Royal I remember seeing us quoted as 20/1 for the title in the summer of 2005 by 442.

Highlight of that summer: listening to 5Live run through the promotion contenders, focusing on QPR, Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton. A Reading fan texted in to say that "Kitson, Lita and Sidwell could be a winning combination", there was about 10 seconds of mumbled agreement that we were a "decent side", and then back to Leicester and Ipswich.

Shame no threads from that time are in the HOF really.

last year I think it was the Sporting Life that ran a piece on us suggesting we were a dark horse for the title because of players like Guthrie and Pogrebnyak. It was at this point I coughed up a collarbone.

bit early to take that yet, but if things don't look much better by mid-July and I'll have a tenner at that...

Sheesh. Tough crowd. As the quoted post not only mentioned the odds for promotion and said that he couldn't find relegation odds, plus the fact that 6-1 is the best I could find which is clearly no where near as good as 22-1, I kind of thought it was obvious what they were. Next time I'll post in crayons if that will help :)

Appreciate the backup Sam, I'll take your 10-1 as a charity bet if you're keen? I'll chuck you a tenner and if I win the winnings go to Save the Children, if I lose you can keep it or give it to your choice of charity.
