paultheroyal Have a sneaky feeling we will do a Watford.

Well yes, Watford will probably get relegated at the end of the season as well.

If we beat this season's performance of 19th I will be exceedingly happy - and even more surprised.

I expect us to be in a relegation struggle all season based on the squad as it currently stands. I think we should beat the drop - just.

I know it's only idle speculation and the pre-season is still an age away but some of the players we've been linked with are terrifying.

I really think this window is the most important for some years and I really don't think Clarke is good enough or clever enough to operate in it successfully with such limited resources. We are literally relying on a failed manager with one managerial job behind him who made a hash of previous transfer windows to make the right calls here to keep us competitive. Someone with experience in buying on the cheap and developing would be far better here. Or at least a manager who has a record of getting the best out of an average group.

Having sold most of the high earners now, if we don't spend at least some money this summer, I really will start to believe that we've been sold to another bunch of duffs in the Thais. Unless of course our financial situation was so bad we need another season with all these players off the wage bill to really recover and start properly next summer?

Either way, the signs are bad and I think Clarke will waste the few pennies we do have to spend.

I am not expecting 2015/2016 to be a great season.

I am not convinced about Clarke and other than Rotherham, I don't see too many other relegation candidates. The 3 teams that came up all look decent and the ones that got relegated will all throw money at it.

However, the Championship is always full of surprises and in some of our games towards the end of last season I did think that we showed real promise at times but had no end product, So who knows with 4 or 5 additions to the squad we could turn last seasons form on it's head.

We need lots of Derby away performances.

If we had Glenn Murray and Mackie for the whole of last season, where do you think we would have finished?

Excellent post. Sadly I feel Clarke will be gone by xmas and Doolan will get his chance.

What a difference a few weeks make!
Things are looking up at RFC and Narin Niruttinanon's interview with BBC Berkshire would suggest that they are legit.

Suddenly, I can see Clarke staying around for a while!

SkyBet are still offering 40/1 on Reading winning the league - just slapped a bit on that as I think it's bloody good value

I'll be very upset if we don't finish in the top half.

Na, think I'll sit this one out. Might go back in before the start of the season, depending on who else we sign.

I don;t want to get too carried away, so i'm remaining cautiously optimistic.

i think we'll get 107 points, winning the league at a canter and probably the FA Cup.
