Legia fans on Twitter seem to be quite happy he's leaving. More than doubled there money on him and quotes like this I am finding:

'a good player (great by EK standards), but moody and not a hard worker. Glad he's gone tbh #LEGIA'

Jano Similar age to Drenthe and I'd label him a has been also. Not convinced someone who hardly did wonders in Portugal, failed at Fulham and has since graced the Cypriot and Polish leagues all the while having a very publicised attitude problem is going to set the world on fire here. As I said, I'll give him a chance and hope I will be proven wrong, but he seems like the exact opposite of the type of player Reading wants right now.

Sá scored his first and only goal for Fulham on 31 December 2011, putting the visitors ahead in the seventh minute of the tie against Norwich City, in an eventual 1–1 draw.[9] Early into the season, he struggled with the pace of the English game, but went on to adapt physically after a few months in the country, also stating he was improving his English language.[10]

Before the 2012–13 campaign started, Sá said he was going to improve at Fulham and told the club's official website: "I feel that this is a really important pre-season for me, I want to be really prepared ahead of the new campaign because I want this year to be my year. I hope that I can score more goals like the one I got against Norwich. That was a good moment for me and I hope I will have many more moments like the one I experienced at Carrow Road".[10] On 30 June 2012, however, his contract was terminated by mutual agreement.[11]

Drenthe was a mentalist who had more interest in casinos and partying than a football career. The worst thing Sa has done by the sounds of it, is come off the pitch when he was injured. Didn't work out at Fulham when he was young and picked up an injury. Since went elsewhere to relaunch his career and has had a pretty impressive goals to games ratio over the last few seasons.

I've read of several clashes and issues with team mates and managers.

Jano And? Looks like a petulant has been to me. Will reserve judgement till I've seen him, if he signs, but this seems a very bad idea to me.

'Has been'?

Last season he scored 13 from 25 games.
Season before that he scored 15 from 26.
Season before that he scored 9 from 20.

So that's 3 seasons in a row where he's averaging around 1 goal every 2 games, and a number of those appearances have been from the bench (iirc CW threw out a stat of 1 goal every 122 minutes last season)

Doesn't sound particularly 'has been' like to me.

I'm sure he has a bit of an attitude, but Clarke has worked with those type of players throughout his coaching career so I'm backing him to get the best out of Sa.

Tall, strong, quick, with a good touch. These players don't come cheap without some baggage.

Let's just see how it goes, but more than anything it's very pleasing to see that the club are active again.

With more competition, Dom Sam ready to play a part; this will only push Cox, Pog, Blackman and HRK to raise their games.

He's going to have a point to prove in Blighty after the injury(s) he had with Fulham.

Don't be surprised if it goes all quiet between now and July 1st on this one. It's the Reading way to keep us guessing and I have a sneaky feeling the club will want a fanfare for a big announcement next week after all the excitement of today (lol).

I'm not thoroughly convinced going on those clips, a YouTube compilation of Church or even HRK would probably look more impressive

But I know that doesn't really mean anything. We'll see, but going on that combined with his reputed poor work rate and attitude problems, I'd be surprised if his goal tally got into double figures. You need to work hard in this league, especially if you're surrounded by crap.

At least he looks like a jonny on the spot kind of box player, someone who knows how to get on the end of balls into the box, something that Clarke called out as an issue and something that we didn't have in the squad once Murray went back to Palace.

That's what we needed. It would've been nice if we could've got that player with genuine pace as well but he looks good enough from the little I've seen on the youtube clips (which doesn't tell the full story of course).

If Jano is not going to prejudge Sa I sure hope he's not on the jury when my trial comes up......

Ugh, the standard of defending is terrible and keeping not great. He doesn't look all that in the video as a best bits compilation there's some really poor goals. BUT he looks to me like one of those untidy strikers who have a natural talent for scoring, style and skill be damned.

And he'll clearly attack the box. £1m seems crazy money to me, but i could see him working well leading the line with Pog or Cox perhaps.

Having just watched the YouTube compilation I am completely stunned.

For some reason I had assumed he was black ! The bloke in the video seems very white and I will probably always struggle to accept he is the real Sa ....

He looks good in the air and most importantly, he seems to play off the shoulder of the last defender and knows where to be in the box which we absolutely lack at the moment. He does remind me a bit of Glenn Murray and we were considering paying £1m+ and £20,000 a week for him 6 months ago

They usually just let they player have whatever he wants I believe.

I seem to remember Little when he came back wanting 77 but it was a no-no from the Football League.

So he has an attitude problem, yet he won their player of the season?

I'm fine with that.

It is good to see that RFC are prepared to spend to strengthen the squad, and I'd go by the club's decision as £1m. is a significant amount given that Alfie was sold just 12 months ago to pay a tax bill and he is a player who operates in the penalty area and gets goals.
Sa's record:
Last season he scored 13 from 25 games.
Season before that he scored 15 from 26.
Season before that he scored 9 from 20.

Anyone know why he has played so few matches by Championship standards?
