Cover at left back.

I'll take it.

If this is true, a disgrace that it was not posted on Rumours and Gossip first. At my age I can't take unexpected shocks!

1) Sign a left back
2) Move Obita to LW
3) Get rid of HRK

Well done Steve, I like your thinking.

Very good signing at this level. The more signings Clarke makes, the happier I am.

Wigan fans seem delighted he's gone! Still, cover at left back. About time too.

The guy played 43 times in Cardiff's promotion winning season and a further 15 times in the Prem for them. Even if it's just cover, seems a good addition.

Clarke clearly saving whatever money he has left for more pressing signings.

Good work.

A Wigan fan says:

He's fcuking rubbish. He was a highlight of shit in a shit season full of shit. He was our first signing of last summer and throughout the season we signed another 3 left backs. Because he was that shit. At one point during a game I turned to my Dad and said "That Andrew Taylor is shit, Dad." He turned me and said. "He's shit isn't he?"

I wish him all the best at Reading.

He has also played a few games at left wing in his career as well for Middlesbrough.

Decent signing in my opinion.

TBF It was a whole season of shit at Wigan, no player really wanted to be there by the sounds of things.

For a true reflection, I would ask a Cardiff fan.

Shit players don't play 46 games in a title winning season.

He's only cover anyway. He'll be like our new Chris Makin.

Leeds said the same about Dylan Kerr, and Portsmouth said that about Matthew Robinson, but they both came good for Reading at left back.

Very good at Cardiff and Watford. Obv had a shit time at Wigan but so did plenty of previously good players in that poisonous atmosphere.

Very solid cover that will cost little. No issue from my end.

I thought we were desperate for a left back/winger. We've now brought in a left back. That means Obita has to perform to stay in the side, and if we need to we can also push him forward.

Lovely stuff.

Obita can push forward to provide the width that is so obviously lacking. .

Defence is looking sound on paper.

Kerr was a brilliant player, but do keep in mind Leeds when he was sold had just won the old First Division in a team which contained Cantona amongst others.

Robinson never filled me with much confidence. I remember a game against Colchester at the end of the season where I remember he was dire, really dire. Think it was the season we got to the Playoff Final but I may be wrong. Other than that he did a job
