Hat-tricks

by SpaceCruiser » 12 Sep 2015 11:08

Does Orlando Sa's hat-trick last night mean that it's the first time somebody from outside of the British Isles (So that rules out the likes of Kevin Doyle and Shane Long) to score a hat-trick for Reading :?:

Just wondering.....as I'm sure that Pavel Pogrebnyak never scored a hat trick for us.

Good answer, but I'd say he isn't really Australian considering he grew up in this country.

Anyone else?

He was born in Australia and has caps for Australia. I think that makes him Australian.

Think that means Sa is the first player to score a hat-trick for Reading whose first language is not English.

That may be so, but he surely isn't 100% Australian. I think I read somewhere that he was also eligible to play for Scotland.

Sa is the first non-British Isles player to score a hat-trick for Reading if you use Spacey's arbitrary rules on nationality designed to support the conclusion he's already reached.

Who scored the perfect hat-trick ?

Not Sa unless he's got two right feet

We have repeatedly had this discussion on this board and it repeatedly crops up again. Ireland is a part of the geographical British Isles. It is not, however, part of Britain.
