Huddersfield Match Thread - sponsored by Mark Robins

Anton Ferdinand makes a return to the Royals starting XI after a six-week absence for the Tuesday-night clash with Huddersfield.

His inclusion is one of three changes from the weekend’s draw with league leaders Brighton – the inclusion of Lucas Piazon and Jordan Obita complete the switches.

Reading starting XI: Al-Habsi, Gunter, Obita, Ferdinand, McShane (c), Norwood, Williams, McCleary, Piazon, Blackman, Vydra.
Subs: Bond, Taylor, Sa, Hurtado, Fernandez, John, Cooper.

Strange that Sa's been dropped. And harsh on Taylor.

Not seen a single 'field fan on the way to the stadium, no queue for the bus, could be in for a low attendance tonight.

Have Blackman and Vydra played up front together before?

Sounds tasty to me.

Possibly 4-2-3-1?

Al Habsi
Gunter, Ferdinand, McShane, Obita
Williams, Norwood
McCleary, Piazon, Vydra
Blackman

Or 4-4-2?
Al Habsi
Gunter, Ferdinand, McShane, Obita
McCleary, Williams, Norwood, Piazon (or Vydra)
Blackman, Vydra (or Piazon)

Sporting Life suggests 4-4-2 with Blackman and Vydra up front.

Not too strange - he was pretty ineffectual Saturday and this may mean Blackman can push up a little as he was a menace against Brighton. I may have missed something, but where's Hector?

Dropped for Ferdinand and as we're only allowed four loanees in the squad, no point having him on the bench.

Or he's injured.

Without a win in last three, if we are a real promotion contender, we need to step up and thrash these tykes.

No hector as we can only have a maximum of 5 loanees in the squad and Clarke probably feels having a centre back on the bench is for cover in case of injury so no harm putting cooper there and allowing John/Fernandez to come in and change the game if needed

Well based on the SkySports summariser it won't be long before we CAN start to panic! We simply haven't turned up and lucky not to be 2 down already.
