I have no idea how a professional striker can miss that so badly.

Only explanation is that he didn't see it till late because of the defender. Sure the replay will show that it was as easy as it looked though.

Looked like he tried to put too much on it when he should have placed it

Having seen strikers miss an open goal from a yard out. These things happen.

Reading could easily been 2 down. That's football. Move on.

Oh I know they happen, and I'm not going to get on his back for it, it's one chance ffs. But I still have no idea how a professional can miss it, or how they can miss from one yard. Fookin hell, even I score from one yard if I make a connection and I can barely kick!

Leaped like a salmon, arched his back like and angry cat and nearly broke his neck he flung his head at it so hard

Strangely it looked exactly the opposite to me. He tried to glance it to the back post when a full blooded head on it might have buried it in the net.

Thought Vydra's failure to hit the target from 12 yards was worse.

Still, to be fair to him, it does seem to be a knack of Reading players to fail to score from penalties.

Very simular to the chance Sa buried against Ipswich , if only....
But I`m not going to judge the guy on one awful free kick and that chance. usual knee jerk reaction on here.

AthleticoSpizz Stats say yhat he will score in every other game that he plays in this league

Stats say that he has scored in every other game in this league in the past. They don't say what happens in the future.

So who would you rather buy

A striker who has score 50 in 100 games in the Championship

or

A striker who has score 5 in 100 games in the Championship?

Need more info - fee? wages? age? fitness status?

Besides, it doesn't change that neither of those stats say what happens in future.
