First half was gash.

Second half was mildly better until Evans came off and we looked more balanced and a lot more likely to score.

Ian Royal On the pen, I've got to say weds showed a masterclass in how to put off a striker.

Defender who gave it away stayed down pretending injury to make Vydra wait.

Another player gets in Vydra's ear, doubtless psyching him out

Keeper takes his time drying his hands just when Vydra thought it was go time to sap the moment from him.

Ref failed to stamp his authority on them all game.

I was watching the saga unfold knowing deep down he'd miss, no confidence. Should have been someone else taking.

I'm glad we didn't lose this, they really are full of themselves as a club and supporters. That "we're on our way back" chant - they were in oxf*rd League 1 3 years ago and have been mid table ever since they came back up!!

Well at least we have recent 5-0 and 6-0 wins against them, the best they can muster is the 5-2 a couple seasons ago.

Did anyone watch Goals on Sunday yesterday?

Ben Sheppard said "Sheffield Wednesday remain 6th as they could 'only' manage a draw at Reading"

I thought that was pretty condescending given that there isn't a massive difference between most of the sides in the Championship.

Always a mistake to analyse anything anyone says on a to highlights show. They don't employ people with football knowledge or any linguistic subtlety .

I don't think it is particularly condescending. Any team that are in the top six that are looking to stay there would consider a drawn game as "only" getting a point when referring to a game against a team below them in the table. They were also leading in the match with less than 20 minutes to go.

Particularly if you take it in the context that two clubs around them on or around the play off places, Birmingham City and Brighton, both won.

I thought Reading played pretty well after getting dominated for the opening 15 minutes. Second half we looked decent and it would have been a travesty not to get something from the game.

Kermogant looks like he knows how to play football. Williams was excellent second half, full of energy.

Thank you to those who responded to my post. Proving the point that people will disagree with certain posters in any circumstance....

Agreed

Even without the penalty, Westwood was wasting time at almost every opportunity he had

I do wonder why teams don't double bluff on occasions. Let the keeper and defenders spook out a player they think is going to take the pen and then line up someone completely different to actually do the job.

Indeed
I dont think he helped himself by picking up the ball and waiting at the penalty spot the whole time this was going on

genome Shout out to the guy in full kit in Y26.

why?!

He does it every week and just to get noticed

cue away fans - you fat bastard etc
followed by home fans - he's shagging your sister etc

At least Wednesday had a slight variation -
your shirt's too small for you etc

genome Also we would've lost today if it weren't for Gunter.

+1

thought he was excellent
last ditch block which he excels at and loads of good play with HRK and some really good crosses

I would love to see this, and it's a quite brilliant idea.

Surely any side doing this would convert more?

Definitely. In all fairness you would expect your 'best' striker to be able to score but I don't know who else I'd have on pens? Norwood?
