Brian's third FA Cup QF - who do you want?

by Ian Royal » 20 Feb 2016 23:54

In descending order of importance I'd like to avoid Arsenal, Spurs, West Ham and Hull.

Watford, Everton, Palace and Chelsea are all middle of the road PL teams we'd have a decent chance against. Though Chelsea may treat it as their only hope of a trophy, assuming they get past City.

City can be a bit comedy and need to keep their powder dry for the league.

Utd are not the force they once were, but are always a big game and we'd have a better chance against them this year than most others.

Blackburn are nothing special (just like us).

Shrewsbury obviously the pick of the bunch, though if they get through they shouldn't be underestimated.

I think winner of Shrews/Utd is the tastiest possibility. Whilst Arsenal/Hull would be a horror show.

West Ham away so we can have one more visit to Upton Park.

Palace wouldn't be a bad shout...like a Watford tie, unlikely to attract any attention- a game they could 'lose', but we would never 'win'. Pards back at the Mad Stad and all that...

If they go to form Everton is the only game we'd even be hanging on the coat-tails of, and I fancy another day out to Wembley, had such a jolly old time last year.

Watford home or away. Alternatively a final visit to Upton Park would br satisfactory.

Away to one of the big guns, strictly for the money. Arsenal or man utd best option, and on telly.
and who knows about winning, it's possible.

Avoid Everton and Man C.

I want either

West Ham/blackburn home or away
Watford home or away
Shrewsbury away
Man Utd home (if Van Gaal) is still there.

But we will get Chelsea/City away

Would have to be at home to Shrewsbury/United.

I think we can beat Man Unt and probably end Van Gaal's job as manager, so has to be my favourite option. And if the Shrews win it should be a fairly comfortable home win for us.

Anyone but Arsenal please. I still remember saying at 4-0 in the League Cup that we might just win that one.
And definitely a home tie. We used up all our away draws last year.

I initially thought Chelsea or Man U (if either/both get through) at home would be good but they'll have an extra incentive this year as their only route to silverware.

United away. 8,000 in the away end?

Vydra winner & LVG's last game in charge.

Away to Shrewsbury would be perfect, you know.

Surprised so many seem to be playing Watford - haven't we always struggled against them?

If we had Man United at home I could see us giving them a good go and even winning.

West Ham Would be a great game, particularly away I think.

if Arsenal win and we get drawn against them I will consider ripping my own eye balls out.

United away:

Massive away allocation.
Good stadium.
Think we could beat United the way they're doing.
Will also be on tv.

Watford H looks the most winnable assuming Blackburn, Hull and Shrewsbury go out.
