Rotherham(H) Predictions

by Gunny Fishcake » 23 Feb 2016 10:29

The return of Colin W*nker is always entertaining and following our glorious cup result this game could be a big come down.

However I feel we will build on Saturday and going for a confident 2-0 win infront of a small crowd of 14,000 ish

Team struggling at the bottom and woefully out of form, we all know how this goes. 2-1 Rotherham.

3-0 Reading. We will kick on from the weekend and be too strong for Rov'rum.

Despite us cutting them to ribbons on numerous occasions and scoring with a free header from a set-piece, Warnock will point to a throw-in being given to us instead of them, five minutes prior to the second goal, as the reason they lost.

TEAM NEWS

Reading boss Brian McDermott has no new injury problems from the weekend Cup win against West Brom.

Matej Vydra could start, having shown no ill effects from a hamstring injury after coming on as a substitute.

Midfielder Danny Williams (hamstring) is a doubt for Rotherham but defenders Richard Wood and Joe Mattock are back in the squad after suspension.

Danny Ward faces a late test on the head injury that forced him out of the game against Burnley at the weekend.

Must've missed that transfer...

I'm sure they'll still give out the attendance of 96,000 even though there are more blue seats than fans.

I'm sure they'll still use the same principle that all clubs do of using 'tickets sold' rather than physical attendance.
Why should we be different ?

One principle Reading stand by is not giving away tickets to tourists when the fan base is low.

Surely the players won't cheat the fans with a poor performance having hit the heights on Saturday?

2-1 Reading.

First home league game I'm missing this season. Because of engineering works the trains won't get me home until just after 2am, which I just can't justify with work in the morning. So, considering the drivel I've sat through to date, I'll go for a 7 goal thriller with Reading eventually prevailing through a Vydra winner 4-3

Rotherham should play into Brian's hands tactically tonight. I fancy a shock to the system 2-0 home league win.

Presumably the Millers will set up defensively. This tends to nullify Reading's attack, which really thrives on the counter.

Having said that, if the McDermott revolution really is in full swing, and we start at high tempo, exploiting the gaps that will surely come if they try and double up on our forwards and midfielders, we could see some results.

I'm optimistic. 3 - 1 to the 'Ding.

My favourite part of the weekend was Colin complaining about the referee getting a decision correct.
As this is the current place where Rotherham's management is at, I can only assume that this will be three points closer to safety. I cant believe we havent targetted this tie in particular for a win.

I am having a terrible day so we had better win.. if not I may lob myself in front of a bus on the way home. Having said that, the way my luck is going today i'll probably miss

5-0 to the mighty Royals and a massive handful of happy pills

Same old story as we fail to put back to back good performances in and a spirited Rotherham side take the lead before we rally late on to get an equaliser. The performance and result leaves us scratching our head and is swiftly followed by more "oh well the league is over for us anyway" cries.

1-1

Derbyshire for them, Rakels for us.
