If we can get him, it's because Benfica have given up on him, in which case I doubt we'll have to pay a huge amount. Certainly not more than £3m. If Benfica still rate him in anyway, we have not a hope of signing him as you're talking really big money to prize him loose.

Very definitely worth pursuing the possibility. But not worth breaking the bank. Too many problems, and too much work required to get him to be worth big money in performances, to justify making him a marquee signing. Lots of work needed on the squad again.

He has the potential to become a real Reading legend in my opinion ; he's popular with the fans, he actually cares, he has good pace and shows little bursts of genuine flair and creativity, he does actually know where the goal is, he tries.... what not to like. Unless Benefica ask really silly money, I think he should be very high on our shopping list. Just the type of player we need.

Have a feeling he will end up at one of the relegated premiership teams. As one of the standout players in the later half of the season, he will more than likely have attracted quite a few clubs' interest

If you had seen him sulking today. You may not be so keen to sign him. Far from the finished article.

Or McD is playing a canny game. Who is going to buy Vydra on the basis of this seasons form. Perhaps Watford\Udinese consortium will be happy to offload and cut their losses. Rather than pay a huge wage for a player no one will want.

I don't understand what you are saying - if everyone thinks he's shit we might be able to get him for nothing???

Not nothing. But a far better price than £10 million.

Maybe they will pay us £10 million, to take him off their books?

Any other players who used to be good but are now total shit you think we should be looking at? For the right price, of course.

Or he might be one of those players who has a couple of good seasons before losing it altogether. Expensive risk to take when he's shown us precisely nothing of his previous form all season.

Don't we have a £4m buy option on John?! - or is that only active if we got promoted?

£4m sounds a bit steep on paper, but I doubt we'd be able to sign a better winger for that price. It's been a long time since we had a player who could cross a ball or beat a man like Ola can. Obviously we wouldn't pay £4m, so if we can get him for anything under £3m it should be a no brainer as he's clearly worth more.

Have to sign him because my 7 yr old sings the 'Ola, Ola, Ola John' all day and it winds his twin sister up no end.

Presumably if we signed John we'd have to sign Piazon as well, for the purposes of the chant.
