Think you'll find Brian is not the guy to bring in foreign loanee mercenaries.........as if anyone needed telling

He spends a lot of his working week watching the youth games.........sizing up who might be good enough for us in the coming days

He is also pretty astute and has his contacts within the league market

Same as Wenger ( also Ferguson). The influence of the manager spreads down through every level of the club.

 So once again the last 2 victories keep the McDermott fan club wet in their pants but the realists understanding that he is f-----g useless. Absolutely shocking starting line up (given the team that finished on Tuesday) baffling substitutions and tactics that honestly defied belief when you should know how Birmingham will play.
For me the biggest change next season is a new Manager, someone who isn't living on past glories and understands that there is a need to play your best team every week, not overweight barrel arsed forwards trying to earn a contract that isn't deserved or fairy feet f-----g Chelsea show ponies who couldn't tackle their dinner.......... Get lost McDermott

AthleticoSpizz Not that odd peewee

We were already "damaged goods" when Brian was invited back

Anything above 14th will be ok............

TBH, I'm happy with finishing away from the relegation fight the ways things went before Brian came in and the slow improvement from there.

Before the summer business I was expecting relegation. Then we seemed to do good transfers and I was hoping for top half with 14 being fine. We've improved on last season, we don't have an arse as a manager any more, and we're not up financial shit creek. It'll do. It means there's always next year.

Good transfers my arse, expect little improvement next season if we still have to play so many foreign mercenary's, no heart, no passion, no hope.

'tard

He is on my hanging list because he clearly learns nothing from previous mistakes in this division, despite being sacked by 2 sides that needed a different approach to winning games, not the same f-----g dross every week and the fingers crossed that it will work more often than not. The problem is with the McDermott fan club, all members assume that "the messiah" will once again bring success to a team that lacks everything needed to succeed in this division. And please don't start with the "not his team" bollocks, he has more than enough players to pick from and still picks players that are inconsistent, overweight, out of form, incapable of passing the ball 10 yards or actually tackle an opponent. Stay in your little "McDermott and his chocolate factory" bubble for as long as you like but the bloke is tactically inept and does not deserve to be our Manager.
And in answer to your question..... Pearson, Moyes, Sherwood, Holloway, Hoddle, Neville, Rodgers, Coppell and at least 20 others who would do a better job!

.....as expected.....a lot of unobtainables

This season was always a "write-off" since Clarke spoke to Fulham.....

.....for those of us that we're there for the 1-1 at Ipswich in '87 when we achieved our best ever league finish and under the tenure of Branfoot....life is never that bowl of cherries

IF Brian can better that, then things aren't quite so bad

Chill Dixey, save your venom for next season.....when it might just have the chance to be justified

Used to be a fan of Norwood, but really going off him.

Sure the passing looks good and he plays some glory balls, but I just don't think he ever sets anything in motion. Today he spent most of the game literally between cooper and mcshane, and mostly just passed to Gunter/Obita. When he did get a chance for a throughball he never once spotted Kermogant's runs.

The last time he managed us in this division it was to the league title.

Constant progress until we became champions.

You need to just calm down my friend and temper your expectations a tad. McDermott is not a miracle worker. He needs time to make improvements and he cannot succeed alone. He is important in our success but it is not going to happen without a lot of other things being right at the club as well.

That's a lot of text. Why not save yourself the bother and just go with "don't know"?

We were poor, nothing much cqme off. Couldnt pass 10yards under no pressure. They played well and were organised and well drilled to combat the diamind formation.
We grew into it late 1St half and 2nd half. But were still mostly shit.
Pretty much every player had a stinker.

leon We were shit. We sat off Birmingham, failed to press them and in possession gave the ball away cheaply.

I think McDermott's the right man for the job however he's got some big decisions to make with that team.

Norwood - He gets the ball and immediately plays it sideways. He rarely takes to ball forward to commit opposition players, and he NEVER plays a forward ball other than diagonals. Actually he played one today. Kermorgant was making runs off the defenders and he failed to see any of them. Only when John and Vydra came on we actually played through balls.

Yes he scored a great goal Tuesday but we've replaced Danny Guthrie with Danny Guthrie.

Williams - he really has everything apart from a footballing brain. Constantly running into trouble and failing (like Norwood) to play the right ball. Very frustrating - he could be brilliant.

I have a horrible feeling that Norwood is going to be voted Player of The Season.

But Birmingham simply scouted us. Press them high up the pitch and theyll make mistakes. And, boy, did we do that in the fist half. In fairness, it wasn't just Norwood this time. Only Quinn comes out with any credit, but, he, like Kermogant, like Ali's 'save', was still just a bit soft. And the front two didn't get near to being line with their back four all game. Kermogant is ordinary, Cox worse than that.

i was surprised we never made any real attempt to get back into the game. Thought that was coming, but it never did. And Im a Brian fan, but he made mistakes in that game. They were bigger and stronger than us and, yet, Piazon still started. Also Hector was on the bench and didnt play a part. Maybe, showing some fairness, our squad is just paper thin, and he just has too many issues at once to solve..

Also left a few minutes early - given the number of people walking down the hill, you would have thought the final whistle had blown. That was really dire - have seen a few rubbish displays this season but this one took the biscuit.

(Had invited a young lad to his first ever Reading game yesterday, guess what - I don't think he will be coming back!)

I'm not. The season is over, the club aren't going up or down and only a few really care about the results for the rest of the season.

The sooner the summer comes and we can rebuild and hopefully bury the malaise of the last 3 years the better.

Oh and yes, Norwood will be voted player of the season (to be fair he is one of only 2 or 3 that are worthy of that accolade).

Poor football all season
Poor service in concourse
Poor parking (going to get worse)
No connection to any players. (Bunch of players that don't give a monkey)

Apart from great company at games.
Looking positive for next season

Been season ticket holder for many years, gonna struggle to get one next season but like many others prob will

CountryRoyal Can genuinely see the Thais shafting McD in the summer.

Shouldn't that be the other way round considering his performance so far. Nice bloke but out of his depth
