BFTG: QPR

by sloughroyal123 » 23 Apr 2016 19:14

Fair result IMO. Al Habsi made the better saves but I feel we had some of the better chances. Good atmosphere on the top tier. Didn't hear the bottom. Norwood and Vydra poor.

Get rid of Norwood next season. Go back to basics, 442 Tshibola and Quinn in the middle, Fosu and someone else on the wings.

Why did you think Norwood was poor?

Based on seeing Fosu play exactly how much ?

We played alright I thought. I was in the lower tier but didn't really hear the upper tier. Probably a fair result though I think we could have nicked it.

Norwood doesn't fit the way we play. Evans looked decent today as did Rakels who took his goal well. They'll both be crucial players next season. All in all a point at QPR is always a good point.

A fair result but thought we had more chances.

Evans had a good game.
Rakels is shaping up well.
McLeary still isnt back to his best - and why didn't he score? He always scores against QPR!
Norwood WAS poor - too many missed passes (not his worst game this season though).
Cooper much better than on Tuesday.
Like Cox in the position he's in.
Ref was average.

I thought we played well - not the best we've seen but not a disaster.

Upper level fans were great and in full song almost all of the 90 mins.
Lol at the QPR twat to the low right (light blue top) who kept giving the shaky hand gesture.

All in all a good day out for me, RG7 jr, 3points and 3points jr.

A game between 2 teams with nothing to play for and it showed with nobody really going for it at the end.

Rakels will score +15 goals next season. Natural finisher who gets in good positions from other flick ons. Really think with a full pre season over the summer he could shine next season.

Only one loanee in the starting line up today. Thought we played reasonably well. Still not sure about Kermogant. Liked the look of Evans, good engine, decent touch. Rakels does look to have something about him.

Wouldn't surprise me if Brian doesn't do a lot of business in the summer. I think he will give Cox and Ferdinand new contracts, and we will sign Taylor permanently. We will trim the squad right down in terms of numbers and we will see more academy players in the match day squads. I reckon 3 or 4 new signings at most

Both Cox and Ferdinand will need to take considerable pay cuts if they do sign.

Ferdinand is a difficult one. If we can keep him fit I'd sign him as he looks quality on the ball (most of the time).

Not sure about Cox.

Also I'd like to see only 1 or maximum 2 loanee's at the club next season.

Judging by Twitter, Rakels has a song now?

Rakels looks a real fox in the box predator of a striker. All three of his goals this season have been all about him cleverly finding himself unmarked in the box and finishing with deadly aplomb. His finish against QPR was all about him finding space, being unmarked and a great finish on the swivel.

I had a feeling he would score yesterday because during the prematch shooting practise he was looking lethal. Everything was flying in off his boot.

Thing with Rakel though is that although I don't doubt his ability to find space in the box and finish with deadly accuracy. Does he have enough of an overall game to be starting matches for us regularly next season? You see good finishers like Cox and Le Fondre not playing regularly. Although they are great finishers, they don't offer enough of an all round game to be getting picked every game.

As for Rakels new song..... I don't know what the hell the kids were singing.... It was something along the lines of "Dennis Rakels, Dennis Rakels, number 10, he plays for Reading FC you can find him down the Oxford Road" and I can only imagine what they were suggesting that Dennis has been getting up to along the Oxford Road.

How much do you think Cox earns a week then?

Credit to the fans yesterday. End of season with nothing to play for and I thought we were excellent.

Better than the usual xxxxxxx xxxxx wearing xxxxxxxx that used to come. Much more of a lads on tour atmosphere.

Excellent.

This has been moderated, someone didn't like the first two words and being all pc, we probably shouldn't use the last word.
