5 million seems great tbf. Look at Birmingham prices-
Redmond - 3 millionish
Mutch - 1 millionish
Butland - 3 milionish

Im assuming there is at least 1 other I cant remember..

Anyone else fear this might fund John to join us?

The owners seem very very keen.

No, I don't fear that it might fund John. The money is earmarked for something else, paying off a bit of debt probably!

Just mentioned on BBC South sport that the fee was 5.5m. If so, even better deal than we thought.

No relevance to that figure, but just oit of interest, is VAT charged on top of these transfer fees?

VAT@ 20% is charged on transfer fees. But VAT on £5m would make it £6m, so I don't think VAT is inclusive of the figure mentioned.

Nah, I easn't implying that it was, just curious because the stated figures are not the true/actual cost to the dealing clubs or maybe the transfer fee (stated) is already inclusive of the tax bill.....which you are saying, it isn't.

Wow, that's one inland revenue raiser on an £80m transfer

It's not.

The buying club can claim it back from HMRC on their VAT Return.

And the stated fee is exclusive of VAT - the seller collects the VAT then pays it over to HMRC in its VAT Return.

In and out - no-one earns, no-one loses.

Nameless
Longhorn1970
Nameless There's 'interest' but that's not the same as it being'likely' he's on his way !
Time will tell, but I agree it's a test of the Thai's commitment to taking the team forward.
I'd think Palace would be a much better option for him then either Villa or Celtic

I think you'll find he'll go, dont think it'll be Palace as game time will be limited unless they loan him out ? ..

I doubt you have a clue what he'll do, and of course it's primarily down to whether we get any offers and whether we want to sell him !
Where he might go would be about who offers the most, and you'd think a Premiership club would be able to offer a very significantly higher wage than a second tier side.

Looks like £5m to Villa ...

At there's something about John that makes you think he could be a catalyst. Just not at £3m +

Has this been confirmed as £5m upfront or installments based on appearances/promotion?

Hope we have put a sell on clause in!

Tishibola not involved at all in today's game. Time to remove the question mark in the thread title I guess. I hope we (and Tish) don't regret the sale.

EP says he will sign for Villa today and then go out to Austria to meet up with their squad.

As much as I like him and as much as I hate Villa, its good money for him. As has been said I hope it works out for him. I would hate to see him go sit on a bench.

Stam confirms to CW that everyone at the club wanted him to stay but Tschibola had set his mind on leaving.

Looking like a great bit of business imo.
