I'd be surprised if he's even the top scorer in one game tbh

He does seem to have something about him. I'm going to say 10 goals.

For him to be top scorer we need to create a damn sight more than we did last year.

Who do people think will be our topscorer? And with how many? It's not taken a lot the last few seasons.

If our top scorer gets 10 or more, I think it'll be whichever of Rakels, Tanner and Samuel play the most. I just can't see Kermorgant doing it. I can't see Mendes getting many at all. Maybe Swift can have a fab season scoring from midfield... seems a little unlikely though.

Rakels - 11 goals
Swift - 8 goals
Williams / Samuel - 5 goals
McCleary / Beerens / Kermit - 4 goals
Mendes - 3 goals
All competitions.

I think Cooper will be our top scorer this season. But only if we improve our corners. Every aspect of our play is cr*p at the moment.

Double figures for Denis but can't see him breaking 20.

Thinking about this a second... i think that 3 of our last 3 promotions our top scorer had less than 20 goals, and we've failed to get promoted in seasons where Long, Sigurdsson, Cureton, Butler (? ), Caskey and Morley have all got 20+, which I think is 5 seasons.

I think instead of a star striker we have been promoted with good striking partnerships which IMO is better for the team.

2001/02 - Forster (19), Cureton (15)
2005/06 - Kitson (18), Doyle (18)*

Even in 2011/12 when only ALF broke double figures off the bench, the team flourished in the second half of the season because of a good striking partnership between Hunt and Roberts.

With the system we are playing it's unlikely we will see something similar. I'd expect to have a main striker up top and then two inside forwards playing in just behind him and out wide (Beerens/McCleary) If Rakels plays in the middle and has decent service then I can see him definitely doing well because he is a good finisher.

*Lita broke double figures too
