Didn't we beat them in the FA Cup last season?

Sky Sports reporting that Leicester have offered him a new 3 year deal, which seems a bit odd after they didn't give him a squad number.

It also says they understand Moore is keen to work with Stam though.

Strange that he has been given a new contract - could be a ploy to get more cash for him if he is sold.

This latest development still leaves the loan option in play.

With Tiger Tanaka in town one hopes that tomorrow he'll sort out this saga directly with the Leicester owners and cut out all this stupid fart-arsing about over the fee. After all Moore's a central defender Stam has identified from those available as being the one he wants here and if anyone knows central defenders it's going to be Stam.

So just get it done.

Plus next season I want him here so he can take the no. 6 shirt....

'Offered' is not 'given' .... he might refuse it and seek a transfer instead.

This is another case of tight old Reading

£1m more will not bankrupt us and doubt we could get better for less than the money being touted

If Leeds were interested as well, after today's result maybe Moore might want to disregard them!

It'd be a bit surprising to seem him turn down almost certainly significantly more money and a Premier League team in order to come and probably be mid-table Championship with us.

Leicester fans seem to like the idea of a new contract for Moore then loan him to us. I'd just tell them to jog on, we still have 3 weeks to pursue other targets, even though the season has already begun.

It is no more than we've offered and believe it or not but some players just want to play football - Leicester won't play him, we will.

If it's the same money, that would be quite surprising.... either very low or we're offering a lot. I still think a lot of players would back themselves to get a chance and take it, but assuming you know what you're talking about I'd like to think he'd want to come here and play week in week out.

Aren't those not exactly the circumstances in which Swift joined us?

Possibly.... which was pretty remarkable. I didn't say it never happened, I said it would be surprising.

Shows the change in football. Players want to play and define their own destiny.

I'd say Liam has Moore (sorry, i had to) chance of playing for Leicester than Swift did for Chelsea.

He may well sign the contract but I would assume only if he has a loan lined up either to us or someone else. He doesn't have a squad number so won't be in the 25 so the only chance of football he has otherwise is the League Cup and the EFL Trophy.

The current management team clearly don't think he is what they need for the PL even as back up and having gone on loan last year, it would be a small surprise if he stays put.

Exactly. It just doens't make sense for him to sign unless he's going to be off somewhere for the season. I'm guessing this is the delay though - Leicester want more money but can't justify it with his contract status as it is, so instead offer him a longer deal and then sell for more money next June.
