Preston (Home) Predictions - Sponsored by the Dutch revolution

by K.URZ13 » 01 Aug 2016 04:42

Excited and nervous about this.
With our tough start to the season, 3 points here would be fantastic. I'm going to pluck for:

2-1
Cooper, Williams
Beckford
Attendance: 18,101

1-2 Preston.

Swift first scorer. First half we look dominent. Start the second half well then Cooper slips and gets sent off for their first goal (pen) around 79th minute, Preston apply pressure and we lose it in injury time to an Al-Habsi fumble.

Jaakkola starts next game.

Definitely think we need three points from this one as don't see us getting much at either Wolves or Newcastle.

Neither can I see us keeping a clean sheet, so will go for 2-1.

Out of interest, what do people think is an acceptable start for the games in August?

PNE (h)
Wolves (a)
Newcastle (a)
Brighton (h)
Cardiff (a)

Be happy with 6 points from those 5?

3-0 home win. I'm confident. I wont be in attendance so no doubt they will play really well and win!

Are the eventualities of a whole season going to be realised in the first 90 minutes then, Tony? I suggest you take your American terminologies and try and make better sense on your next post.

Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. The season isn't decided in a day, but it will be the first indication on how well equipped Stam is for the Championship.

1-2 to Preston.

We start brightly but look confused about how to actually score. Preston grow into the game as we settle into pedestrian play without intent.

Preston take their chances in quick succession. We rally to late but barely look like scoring. We get one back with a moment of quality or luck but haven't done anything to justify better than a one goal defeat.

I think this is going to be a long and difficult season for us. With the players newly motivated and wanting to impress their new manager, hopefully we'll be able to battle out a draw and get our first point on the board.

Preston were poor when they came here last season. They only won cos we were poorer. They've recruited that donkey from Charlton and a Blackburn reject.

2-0 Swift & Williams

2-2 with Preston grabbing a late equalizer. Swift and Rakels for us.

What "big name" is that then?
