Lower West
Royal_jimmy I think Liam Kelly will be a far better player than him

Kelly is even more of a lightweight. Going to need a solid foundation in midfield to allow the luxury of such a player.

In the Swindon game Kelly played really well at the base of a midfield three. Won the ball back well and outperformed all of the other CMs that game. Despite being a midget he seemed to be quite physical. I imagine his loan in the conference helped that aspect of his game.

Swindon are a physically small side. Some of their second half subs were only 17/18 . As they've no depth to their squad.

"He's a box-to-box midfielder and an excellent passer of the ball," manager Chris Hughton told the club website.

lol, by box to box does he mean box to semi circle

Well 98% of social media is absolute garbage. So I am not surprised...

Anyhoo, no big loss imo. His style of play here was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. A bad fit...

No coincidence that our worst two seasons in recent years have been with Norwood at the helm alongside Williams. A midfield three of Joey, Williams and Quinn with Evans as back up works for me or put Evans in for Joey

With Norwood gone we might score from a corner this season and get the ball moving forward to one of our players instead of the midfield having to chase back to recover it.

Stranded Feels like a bit of a sideways move for him.

Are you kidding? Brighton are far bigger than tinpot Reading.

Please explain in what respect?

To be honest the only thing that annoys me about this is selling him now rather than waiting until after 20 August so he doesn't get to score the obligatory winner against us.

Other than that he is a good player who never fitted in here as the management who bought him went soon after and no-one ever built a team around his positives. Consequently we were left with a misfiring team struggling to "cope" with him. None of this was his fault of course.

Given the number of talented midfielders we have about the place following the summer activity so far I don't think he'll be missed. Hope we got a minimum of £2m.

Oh and I think it's more of a confrimed rather than a confimred.

LOL @ Ady Williams trying to whip up fans on BBCRB this morning only to be met with a universal 'meh'

"But he's the conductor, he's the conductor"

Yeah, and we've been playing the wrong tune

Royal_jimmy But Aaron Kuhl jesus. He's proven he's lightweight and inept at this level and is never going to be good enough. I think Liam Kelly will be a far better player than him

Kelly might turn out to be a better player, they're not miles apart, but Kuhl is the more talented of the two and particularly stronger defensively. Plus he's already had a couple of good games at this level. Kelly can adapt his game to play the Norwood/Kuhl role but I don't know whether he's good enough at reading the game to do it in the Championship. Writing either of them off is profoundly silly.

Disappointed to see Norwood go, he was our best player by a distance and we always suffered without him. However, we've got a lot of depth in midfield, so this doesn't leave us exposed the way that Obita or McShane leaving would do.

nothing to do with the fact we were nearly bankrupted by a Russian crook, keep swapping managers and selling our best players and replacing them with cheap nobodies?

it was all ollie norwoods fault.

our fans make me laugh.
any player leaves and he was suddenly always shit and we never wanted him anyway.

Apparently it is supposed to be one in, one out today so watch this space.
Norwood was always going to leave due to high wages but surprised it is to a championship side.

OK yeah, we're not Barcelona, but it's definitely our strongest position. Williams, Quinn and Swift are "proven" at this level and Evans and VDB seem to also be seen as "first-team" midfielders.

We've got one proven goalkeeper, one right back, one left back, one proven centre back + two we're very unsure of, three senior wingers, and four strikers we're very unsure of.
