MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h) sponsored by Compo

Huddersfield Town have won 6 of 8 league games (including a win at Newcastle where Reading spectacularly crashed (although that could be as much down to dodgy officials as just not turning up )).

Town play 4-2-3-1, work hard on keeping possession and try to attack with speed and movement. They are likely to switch to a 4-4-2 when without the ball.

The only major absentees through injury are midfielder Philip Billing (ankle) and forward Joe Lolley (foot). And I'm relieved Lolley is out as I though he really caught the eye against them last season.

Could be quite a stalemate/borefest as both teams try to keep possession and both teams like to play with full backs pushed quite high up the pitch so a total cancelling of each other out might be expected.

Rated their most dangerous player (other than Nakhi Wells scoring his usual goals against us) is Man City loanee midfielder Aaron Mooy who is calm and controlled in possession with accurate passing plus quick to tackle.

Reading will be without Rakels, Cooper, Meite plus the suspended McCleary and Blackett. Moore is expected to have recovered from a dead leg received at the might Amex on Tuesday.

Blackett probably would not have started anyway so expectation would be for a more or less full strength side with Harriott replacing McCleary for what will be his biggest game of the season so far.

In "control" today is the Isle of Wight's James Linington

Previous record with Mr Linington

21 Nov 15 > Reading 2-1 Bolton Wanderers
02 May 15 > Derby County 0-3 Reading
28 Dec 14 > Reading 2-1 Norwich City
21 Nov 14 > Cardiff City 2-1 Reading
12 Aug 14 > Reading 3-1 Newport County (League Cup)
10 Sep 11 > Reading 0-2 Watford
30 Apr 11 > Coventry City 0-0 Reading
22 Jan 11 > Reading 1-1 Hull City
02 May 10 > Reading 4-0 Preston North End
30 Jan 10 > Reading 1-0 Barnsley

Reading have not beaten Huddersfield Town at home in the league since August 2001 when Nicky Forster scored. Only 3 games played (2 drawn) since then but still something that needs to be put right as the performances in those games have been pretty awful as far as I can recall.

Huddersfield down to 10, second yellow for dissent. When they were awarded a freekick!

Well, this is an unusual state of affairs for us.

1-0 is never safe, but you have to fancy us now with our keep ball ability and Huddersfield down to 10.

I hope people now realise why being comfortable in possession is so important, after the last few games.

Town players talking themselves into the book. Ref seems to be willing to take no nonsense, Gooding suggesting he hasn't been great.

Obita (yellowed) off, Watson on. Gunter to LB.

Suggestion it's tactical to prevent a second yellow to Obita... which seems sensible.
-------
Evans on for Berg.

Don't blow your load too soon Jaap. Presumably precautionary to protect him from injury? Or another liable to give the ref a chance to even things up?
-------
Gunter heavy touch nearly puts Wells in, but Gunter gets there. Wells goes down, ref blows and gives a yellow. If Wells gets past he's through on goal. Mick, Tim and Dillon all agree no foul, but if it's given it's got to be red. Ref atrocious apparently.
-------

Quinn on for Swift.

Hi all, late arrival today!
Good score so far. Looks like a red card could be on the table at any time. Gunter needs to be careful.

Derby just scored (Vydra) then Blackburn scored 2 in quick succession.

Hmm Huddersfield pressing for an equaliser... we've failed to take the chances we've had to kill it off. Close game, with a ref who could do anything at any moment.
