Villa Predictions (H)

by genome » 17 Oct 2016 10:42

Villa - 1 win in 8 months. 4 wins in 51 games. Not won away in 14 months. You know what that means:

Reading 0 Villa 1

This 'should' be a good win.
I predict not many chances, crap decisions from the ref (stupid penalty that will decide the match).
But overall a 2-1 win.

I also have a bad feeling about this one, I see Villa have sold out their allocation which is impressive so an early goal for them would make for an interesting atmosphere.

0-2

McCormack, Tishbola

Unbeaten at home
Villa winless away
1 win all season

All the recipes for a Villa win there I think but I'll stay optimistic.

2-0 Reading.

Villa are an absolute shambles and Bruce has a stupid head, so no surprise to see a Villa win being predicted on here

1-0 to us

Our record v Villa is poor but I don't think we will lose tomorrow.

This.
Plus they're now managed by softly-spoken Stevie Bruce, who knows how to make it tight at the back, so to squeak.

One thing for certain, it won't be a re-run of the 3-5 in 1970-71.

We're unbeaten at home still, find ourselves in 8th still despite having just gone 3 games without a win - our joint longest so far this season. Villa are bobbins and have an ex-royal on the books, so tradition would have it down as a 0-1 or 1-2 to Villa. But I feel confident.

2-0 Reading
Swift & Kermorgant.

genome 4 wins in 51 games

Jesus, that is quite something

Bet Tshibola's having a great time down there

If we get a goal in the first half hour I think that would do it, hopefully crowd don't get frustrated too early if we struggle to create anything. We average 1.08 goals a game which hardly gives an impression we'll get a load tomorrow, as bad as Villa appear

Will be interesting to see the atmosphere, always enjoy it when the South Stand's full as it tends to get the home fans going, although the team does seem to struggle when the opposition bring a big following

We really need an early goal in this one. Fearing Mcormack and Kodija a bit, esp with jVDB at the back.

I'll go with a 2-2 draw. All goals penalties.

We should win this one really. We have a system. A style of play. We're getting better at it. We're a bit light up front but we have a game plan and we know what we're doing. Villa are a bit of a mess. Disorganised. Not highly motivated. Probably don't fancy coming down on a Tuesday night in October. On the plus side for them, they do have quality players and they ought to want to impress in front of 4000 travelling supporters who are making a fantastic effort to come down and support them in the middle of the week.

If we had more cutting edge up front, I'd always be confident about our chances. But because we don't have great firepower up front, often a lot of our good work goes to waste and we don't get the results that our play and possession deserves.

Still, i think we'll somehow work an opening and win this one by a goal to nil.

Hoping that Bruce hasn't had long enough yet to stop Villa's descent down. A game that on paper that seems like we should be winning 3-1, however would be sods law for Villa to end their away losing streak against us tonight
