Arsenal (A) Predictions

by royalp-we » 22 Oct 2016 23:51

So it's the 4th round of the League cup on Tuesday as we make the short journey to the Emirates.

Wenger is notorious for playing the youth in this comp and they have an abundance of talent in the youth ranks.

I think we will take the lead through a dodgy pen - then put to the sword. Final score:

4-1 to Arsenal.

We'll go 6-0 up, have 3 clear penalties turned down and we'll lose 8-6

I think we'll 4-0 up and end up losing 7-5 after extra time.

Nah, that'd never happen...

Arsene Wenger in his 20 years at Arsenal has never won the League Cup, probably a result of him not taking it very seriously at all with his team selections

This is the side that won at Forest in the previous round

Martinez
Maitland-Niles (Bielikat 87')
Holding
Gabriel
Gibbs
Xhaka
Elneny
Oxlade-Chamberlain
Reine-Adelaide (Zelalem 83')
Akpom (Willock 83')
Pérez

Martinez of course made his debut against us many years back, and let in five goals

Sheffield Wednesday thumped them 3-0 last year, but that was actually a pretty strong team, featuring Cech, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Flamini, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Walcott, Iwobi and Giroud (who Wenger says will probably return on Tuesday)

So I don't expect a walkover that could easily happen if Sanchez, Ozil and Cazorla get a game, and hopefully the players can really up their game like they did at Wembley

This is the time we will finally beat Arsenal.

1-2

I'm not even drunk yet.

Our "play it sideways across in front our goal" will be found out and destroyed by the Arsenal forwards and the score will be 7-0 to them, unless, of course, we are 4-0 up, forty four minutes into the game!

With Arsenal guaranteed to put out a reserve side I find it hard to predict but I'll plump for a 2-1 Reading win just because I'm going.

Going to penalties. As both teams have 80% possession of the ball.

That "reserve" side still contained six players who wouldn't look out of place in their first team.

If they have to field a weaker side than that, then we'll have a chance, but I'm expecting another 3-0 whooping.

Sooner or later we will fluke our way to a win against them. It probably won't be on Tuesday night though.

1-1 then 50 yard screamer for Xhaka to win them the match in extra time.
