My first thought was definitely Shaka - then I remembered Paul Canoville. Can't decide between the two.

Just players I've seen:

---------------------Shaka------------------- Subs: McPherson, Mariappa, Obita, Tshibola, HRK, McCleary, Owusu
Rosenior--Sonko--Bikey--Bertrand
Gilkes-----Legs---Harper---McAnuff
------------Roberts----Lita----------------
vs.
-------------Kitson----Doyle--------------
Convey---Gylfi-----Sidwell------Little
Shorey----Ívar---A.Williams--Murty
-----------------Hahnemann------------- Subs: McCarthy, Pearce, Gunter, Bryn, Norwood, S. Hunt, Long

That could easily go either way but I think the 05/06 players mean the white team edge it.
Players eligible for neither side: Al-Habsi, De La Cruz, Karacan, Kebe (?), Hurtado, Seol, Husin + the Korean kids. Only need one more to get us to a full team (four more if you don't include kids who never played for us). Anyone I'm missing? Should I count Kebe for the black team? In which case it's bye-bye to Rosenior and the back line looks a bit leaky but we'd have the quickest right flank ever.

Paul Canoville was a definite upgrade to the 85/86 championship winning team. He started off brilliantly in 86/87, but the terrible knee injury he got against Sunderland basically finished his career. I met and chatted with him on the Malaga trip in '87 and a genuinely nice guy. However, the scar on his leg from the surgery was quite dreadful to behold.

A young HRK was clearly watching and learning in the background

Exactly, he has just chosen to take his current human form as a Malian.

Me too. If Jimmy could just time travel back five years (which lets face it would pe a piece of piss for Jimmy), he would be great in this current team.

harry Leroy Lita for the winner v 'Boro & the overhead v Palace?

No, because he was a c**t of a man. Wouldn't even make it near my top 20.

My favorite players are my favorite players - I'm not going to put them on separate lists based on skin colour as it's irrelevant.

Keith Curle worth a name check - a short but decent career like Canoville.

Unlike Bob Hazell.

----------------Al-Habsi--------------------
Kebe----------Della-----------------Kim
---------Nam---Karacan--Bashir-----
Hurtado---------------------------Husin
--------------Ji--------Seol------------------

League appearances:
Kebe 175
Karacan 155
Al-Habsi 42
Seol 30
De La Cruz 15
Hurtado 5
Others 0

Terrible side. Hope Al-Habsi catches it, he throws it to Kebe who runs the length of the pitch and hopes something happens.

Yeah me too....loved the guy. If only the injuries had been kinder.
James Harper as well. Magnificent on his day.
