Team for Ipswich (A)

by RustyRoyal » 31 Jan 2017 22:57

So assuming that no one who was injured today is back for Saturday what team what you go for?

I'd pick a 532 with -
Al Habsi
Moore
Blackett
Reece
McCleary
Obita
Kelly
Williams
Swift
Beerens
Grabban

Bench would be - Jaakkola, Mutch, Watson, Popa, Meite, Weiser, Mendes.

Edit: Evans for Mendes and Gunter for Watson. Was being stupid and just copied bench.

Assuming no one back as you say.

......................Al-Habsi
...........Oxford, Moore, Blackett
Gunter.............Evans................Obita
..................Kelly.........Swift
..............McCleary......Grabban

Jaakkola, Watson, Williams, Mutch, Popa, Meite, Dickie (assuming fit?)

But I suspect we'll see at least Kermie back, if not McShane and Rakels, plus Williams will play.

But quite like the look of that.

We've been changing winning teams quite often recently! I think that we need Reece in at least so that we have 3 recognised CBs playing.

Very tough call. We wouldn't have signed the 3 players on loan to sit on the bench

Guessing Reece will come in as part of a back 5 and Grabban will start up top.

Then how do you justify dropping anyone after 3 straight wins?

Good problems for Stam to have

Given it's been a different line up each game, quite easily.

Would be very surprised not to see at least one or two of today's signings in the XI on Saturday.

I'd say only really Evans has been dropped - the others have mainly been enforced through injury, and then the player not getting back into the starting 11

This time you are saying if Mutch plays, you have to drop one of Swift, Kelly or Williams. Yann prob won't get back in even if fit despite an excellent display against Cardiff. If Reece starts, either Blackett, Moore or Obita drop out, presuming McShane comes back in. Popa in means Beerens or McCleary on the bench.

Tough choices for Stam. Likelihood though is some players need a breather and are carrying knocks which aren't publicised, and these new players give the opportunity to do that. Team selection will depend on who that is.

--------------------Al Habsi------------------------
-----------Gunter Moore McShane----------
McCleary----------Evans-----------Obita
-------------Williams-------Kelly-----------------
------------------------Swift-------------------------
--------------------Kermorgant-------------------

Subs: Jaakkola, Blackett, Oxf*rd, Mutch, Beerens, Meite, Grabban.

So many options, such fluidity.

Here here.
The new lads will get a run at some point but you can't break the dynamic of the side for the sake of it.

Ipswich are there for the taking.

Attack attack attack

I think some of the players are in need of a rest, so why not rotate now that we have a "capable" squad
