Stranded
genome As the thread's maker, yes the thread has evolved. However, it's not for general chat about clubs in the Premier League, nor any team who has no relevance to Reading FC at this moment in time, that's what General Football is for

The thread is for talk about teams in our immediate vicinity, but discussion of other Championship clubs is fine too. Towards the end of the season, this can be extended to: PL sides who are going to be relegated & League One teams who may be promoted (for example, when we were discussing the playoffs at the end of last season). Talk about local rivals also permitted although let's face it, it's going to be rare as these teams are rarely relevant to Reading any more.

Now I hope this settles the matter before any more fun and joy is sucked out of the whole thing

This and if OMA really, really wants to mention Leeds, let him. Just don't reply to those posts.

Who are you to tell me they aren't a rival? Not for you to decide.

Old Man Andrews It evolved since the thread started, grow up.

Just a shame you haven't.

You're not grown up or knowledgeable enough to understand what a rivalry is apparently. I thought you were better than that, guess not.

Sadly I expected no more from you. Do shut up, you big baby.

Dictionary says:

Rival (noun) - a person or thing competing with another for the same objective.

So, a team has the objective of competing to win the Championship
Or, a team has the objective of competing to be the best in the local area

Don't think Reading and Leeds have the same objective at the moment.

Indeed. We all agree. Bar one person who thinks he runs HNA.

Calling Platypus to the thread. Do your grim work.

For discussing rivalries in the rivalry thread? Tosser.

Imagine being that pathetic you have to tell the teacher. There were a few of us discussing rivalries quite amicably before the usual idiots got involved.

Snitchy.

Everyone still giving OMA the attention and validation he craves? Sigh.

Walks out of thread.

There are no handbags involved in the actual debate about rivalries, there was a conversation.

You then have Ian and Snitchy Leon coming in and adding absolutely nothing to the conversation. Who is at fault here exactly? The person discussing the subject matter or the people coming in the thread to cause trouble and post off topic?

Based on the starts, gonna be boring I'd say us and Bristol City, I'd say Blackburn but they were just outside the play-offs last season so I don't think they would count.

Congrats on both being grown men who lack the ability to debate with people you disagree with, you must be so proud.
