Swansea's 99th minute winner means that if we do get that 6 points deducted on Monday (or next week) we will still be above both Cardiff and Huddersfield in 20th.......though the team who look most likely to follow Wigan and Blackpool into League 1 are QPR at the moment; Ainsworth not really turned things round for them.

Weird how Stoke have suddenly become really good. Maybe it was the knowledge that no matter how much they overspend the EFL will leave them alone has taken the weight off their shoulders

But it is the right kind of overspending…we did the wrong kind!

Dai could have waived £50m of debt we owe him and we'd be fine too.

Is that really a thing though? I thought writing off debt to bypass ffp wasn't allowed.

It's literally what Stoke's owner just did.

Just noticed Cardiff still have Huddersfield, Blackpool and Rotherham to play. Lots of dropped points for the bottom clubs there.

Also, outside those games, which are tricky anyway, Cardiff's run in is pretty tough.

Being 2 up at home to your big rivals and losing will be an absolute kick in the nuts as well.

They weren't, they were 2-0 down, got it back to 2-2 then conceded in the last minute.

You are, of course, right. Still a kick in the nuts though.

Thought the FL said something about the Stoke chairman waiving £120m of debt not being acceptable and, if so, Stoke are still in the doo-doo waiting for their turn at playing football while the league turn their points vacuum in Stoke’s direction.

I think this could happen in the next 2 sets of results:

7 April

Blackpool v Cardiff (draw)
QPR v Preston (away win)
Reading v Birmingham (home win)
Rotherham v WBA (away win)
Sheffield Utd v Wigan (home win)
Watford v Huddersfield (home win)

10 April

Birmingham v Stoke (away win)
Cardiff v Sunderland (away win)
Huddersfield v Blackburn (home win)
Luton v Blackpool (home win)
Norwich v Rotherham (home win)
Preston v Reading (home win)
WBA v QPR (home win)
Wigan v Swansea (draw)

That would leave the table on:

18) Reading - 43 (assuming 6 are taken off)
19) Huddersfield - 42
20) QPR - 42
21) Rotherham - 41
22) Cardiff - 40
23) Blackpool - 36
24) Wigan - 35

You are allowed to lose more money if the owners are 'investing' in the club, rather than you funding losses by debt. But we breached even that limit, so the Dai writing off any of our debt wouldn't make any difference.

I think that Stoke just have amazing accountants/lawyers that have allowed them to get around FFP.

Good for them if they have. Loop holes suck. Be funny if he's waived loafs of money only to be hit with the cheat hammer anyway.

God, we were 5pts behind them in 7th back then, so while our collapse hasn't been as dramatic, it's still shockingly bad.

That is genuinely unbelievably bad.

They looked a decent side early season. Confidence must be rock bottom
