https://wiganathletic.com/news/2023/may/26/Club-Statement-The-Chairman-on-the-past-12-months-and-future-plans/

Highlights:
an eight-figure sum is currently being processed and is due to land in the Club account imminently

the wage budget was unfortunately becoming more and more unmanageable. The inflated wage bill resulted in cash flow issues which meant we could not adhere to the Agreed Decision with the EFL in January

A new CEO and Sporting Director will be announced over the coming weeks to ensure these plans are properly implemented

the wage budget for this coming season has been agreed upon. It will be over 65% less than what it was this season

The Latics Store will more than double in size and this will allow for greater revenue

good to know the club shop will double in size to help sort their financial difficulties out

Royal_jimmy Wigan are screwed then. They won't be top 6.

I reckon it'll be Barnsley/Sheffield Wednesday, us, Derby, Bolton, Portsmouth and Blackpool in no order who will be top 6.

I agree it will likely be those, based on what we know right now. Of those not mentioned who could challenge: Charlton and Peterborough are the next most likely two to make the play-offs in my view.

Only watching the updates/stats but it seems like Luton are dicking Coventry right now, 1-0.

Ten points clear of Cov. Nice to see a play-off winner deserve their win.

Gabriel Osho is now a Premier player….who would’ve thought that?

Think I'm right in saying Luton have levelled the record for shortest time between entering the Football League and reaching the top flight (with Wimbledon) - nine years. Shows clubs can still reach the Premier League simply by signing the right players, without having a huge budget.

Not quite equalled it yet they haven't. If they don't agree a ground share with the muppets down the road or the franchise thing up the road they will be refused entry to the PL as their ground currently fails to meet PL regulations. If they are insistent on staying put they will need to spend millions and have agreement of the PL to play the first 4/5 home games away while their ground is brought into the 19th century. Their new ground is still at least 2 years away I think (and that's also sited right in the centre of the town  ) and therefore they may not want to spend millions for what may work out to be just one season.

Be interesting to see what happens to Coventry when Liam Moore launched that penalty into orbit we never really recovered. Been down hill ever since culminating in relegation. They do have a good manager but will lose there striker and a few others.

People keep saying this, but I've seen nothing official stating they be refused entry, nor have to play games away from their home, if they don't build a new media suite and camera positions etc.

Yes, the work has to be done, but there's little evidence that any threat of a ban exists.
