Never seen a team squander so many chances in a game then in this game tonight. Stoke should be 7 up.

Coventry got a good result today; they look like they could last the distance, for the playoffs at least. What a job Mark Robins has done there.

Yeah, I think Robins has very quietly done an excellent job there. Always thought he was a decent lower league manager.

I like the look of Gyokeres, the forward they brought in from Brighton.

Looks like Steve Cooper is getting a good reaction from the players at Forest too

Just seen the highlights

They re looking like a decent outfit. Some skilful players and plenty of strength shown by their forwards.

However it was a shocking decision to award a penalty at 1-1 . The Coventry player should have been booked for a blatant dive. Instead they score and then run away with it.

VAR anyone?

Having a butchers at the Derby County forum, that makes for grim reading.

More media stories out today paint an even worse picture than they thought, no sign of a buyer, why would there be a buyer and potential having to do long term deals with the HMRC to clear any debt. The fact they have still not posted accounts from 17/18 onwards is utterly shocking. They are in danger of literally going to the wall.

£60 million in debt, don’t own their ground. There is pretty much nothing for a buyer to buy. From what I heard they are Likely to struggle to pay wages almost every month as they have not to no income on the horizon.
Whilst I’m not Derby’s biggest fan I do have a degree of sympathy for their fans.

Looking from the outside, the only difference between us and them seems to be that our owners are still interested.

Just how big is that debt? I’m guessing £100 million plus

It’s any irrelevancy.
Debt to HMRC, to your players, to other football clubs kills you.
Owing money to yourself is extremely unlikely to close you down. If the owners decided to cut ties the amount of money they owed themselves woukdn’t really matter.

Of course it would. They'd want it back.

It either hykes the price or becomes debt to an outside creditor.

Even SJM tried to recover some of the money he'd pumped in on selling.

Haven't the owners turned a lot of the debt into shares? In which case it becomes a straight negotiation between buyer and seller i.e. a controlling majority will cost you X per share.

When you are in debt to external companies it becomes much more tricky as there are multiple parties who would need to be as happy as possible with the funds they are getting esp. if the club has gone into admin.

So did Madejski, which pushed the price up.

You have no idea what they would want !
They could wipe the debt, if they wanted to.
But you are not addressing the point, which was not about selling the club. While the owners continue to be committed to the club any internal debt isn’t an issue. There is a complete difference between what the owners have invested and what a club has failed to pay to third party creditors. Of course if at some point they want to sell up they would need to decide how to make a sale viable. Expecting to recover £100 million is unrealistic, they would need to take a hit on most of it. Putting the club into administration wouldn’t make much sense where they are the sole creditors.
