Stranded
Mr Angry Revealed today that Derby owe £15M to a US Investment fund called MSD Holdings; the fund have announced that they hold collateral worth more than the principle and interest.

In other words, they have a call on the only tangible asset Derby have - Pride Park.

Any new owners will have to pay that debt off or else risk the US firm demanding that they sell the ground in order to pay them back.

What a mess!

Their fans seem convinced that HMRC will cut a deal. They likely will. But 28m is relatively small change to the Treasury so there is a strong argument to write that off and liquidate if necessary if it helps ensure the other 91+ professional clubs pay up.

HMRC have been out to make an example of a club for ages... usually the one starting the push iirc

You can only delete posts up until someone replies, after that you can only edit them

So you've stitched muirinho up there

Oh yeah true. I thought you could delete it unless someone quoted it. Oops. Kinda catch 22 there.

For future reference muirnho at the bottom of your post there should be a little Red Cross which allows you delete it (unless as genome rightly says someone doesn’t post afterwards).

Thanks, I didn't spot that at the time, and now of course it's too late :-)

Is this the same ground that Derby sold to Mel Morris for £80 million a few years ago ? How do you borrow money against an asset you don’t own ?
Surely if the loan was taken out before the sold it the loan should have been repaid ?

Could be the borrowing is in name of Derby FC with Morris providing a guarantee with the ground as supporting security

So Morris just paysbthe £15 million. Or sells an asset he claimed was worth £80 million, although obviously wasn’t. Good luck in the second hand football stadium market, especially where your second hand stadium has a bankrupt sitting tenant !

Bournemouth winger David Brooks diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I guess that makes him doubtful for our game at the end of the month.

In all seriousness, best wishes on a full recovery for him.

It explains a lot because he has pulled out of so many Wales games.
The FAW medics seem to have caught this early and the prognosis is good.Hopefully he can make a full recovery and continue his career.

Heat being turned up on Derby, seems the FL are asking the administrators at the club to provide proof it has the funds to see out the season. Reports suggesting they need £13.5m just to cover player and staff wages until January.

Failure to pay wages is another points deduction...
It’s also breach of the player’s contracts and they would be entitled to walk away from the club.

Also, Cardiff got stuffed 3-0 by Swansea, McCarthy can't have much longer at this rate.

If we extend this thread to our local rivals are we all going to have a laugh at Aldershot?

Quite possibly their worst ever result - Bowers and Pitsea knock them out of the FA Cup.

Embarrassing for them. Could see them sliding into National League South. I fear for Maidenhead a bit too. Hasn't been a great time for our local non-league sides, Slough look like they could be in trouble this season.

Woking (tier 5) also humbled by Horsham (tier 7) and with Hungerford going down to Bromley (but at least that was to a tier 5 side) it wasn’t a great weekend in the Fa Cup for the localish sides around Berks.

Man, the way Derby are going they might stay up, even if they get a further 9pts deducted.

Forest score two injury time goals to lead (we can`t win at home) Bristol city after trailing for most of the game.

False 6th
Once we have all our players fit Pauno will lose the plot because he will pick all the wrong ones. We’ve not played anyone decent yet either.

I assumed Brizzle won that game  Cooper's doing a cracking job at Forest.

Still, a relegation battle will give Bristol City 1982 something else to think about other than our FFP points deduction. Nigel Pearson is doing a great job, only 3 more home games without a win until they can claim another record for their honours list, unfortunately they have Barnsley coming up soon though.

How many home games without a win is it now?
