Were we the record for debt in the Championship? Because Everton are gonna smash it.

Far from it. I think Bolton had around £193m of net debt (around £229m gross debt) in 2015. I don't know if anyone else has had more at any point.

Sad that Leicester went down and Everton stayed up. The one season where I wish 4 went up from the championship to the premier league as Coventry deserved promotion and Everton deserved to drop.

Hoping Sheffield Wednesday win tomorrow

Watching the po final - reckon Barnsley would be a tougher prospect than Wednesday next year

Also duff an excellent manager

Difficult to say as the side that loses might also lose players to the higher level over the summer.

If Carlsberg did the way to win a playoff final that would be it. Gutting for Barnsley but fair play to Wednesday for not wanting to settle for penalties. If only we could win a playoff final.

Incredible how Sheffield Wednesday came from four down to reach the final to begin with and then leave it until the 123rd minute to win the final. I feel for Barnsley; they did amazingly well playing with ten men for almost all the second half and all of extra time.

I guess Wednesday can look forward to renewing their big local rivalry with Rotherham now they've returned to the big time.

Nope - and the manner of defeat will be very hard to come back from. Interesting now very few sides go up the following season after losing in the play offs.

Didn't think they were any good even before they went down to 10, same high up the pitch pressing limited ability side as last year.

Didn't watch the game as I was in Sussex but sounds like it was another tight one.
I am glad Sheffield Wednesday went up. They got 96 points so probably deserved it especially after coming back from 4-0 down.in the semis. They're also a bigger club with more money and would probably have won the league this season had they not been promoted.

League one looks much much easier this season which gives me optimism we will be challenging for top 6:

Ipswich are better than Wigan who we've gone down with. They may go down again to L2. They're in a big mess.

Plymouth are better than Blackpool.

Sheffield Wednesday a very good side for that level. They're out of it now.

Bolton, Derby and Portsmouth will improve. Barnsley may challenge but it'll be hard for them if they lose players. Peterborough I see being weaker.

For us to not be top 6 we'd have to likely be below Bolton, Derby, Portsmouth, Blackpool, Barnsley and Charlton/Posh. I'm sure we can finish above at least two of those teams and I don't see anyone else in league one challenging.

Yeah I'm not sure who I have as favourites to go back up next season, although I imagine Derby will probably be the bookies favourites I reckon.

Other than that, you'd reckon the rest will be between ourselves, Blackpool, Barnsley, Bolton and Portsmouth with potentially Peterborough and Charlton pushing towards a top six finish.

I can also imagine the games vs. Leeds being of slight interest as well

Looking at who's gone down, and who's gone up into it, the Championship really has some big old football clubs within it next season.
That's going to be a proper bun fight.
Had we stayed up, I reckon we would really have struggled in that league this coming season.

With the added spice of point deductions hanging over the heads of several clubs.....

Excited to see VAR work at Luton Town next season. On field referee walking into the living room of one of the houses on Kenilworth Road and rewinding the incident on Sky +
