Player of the Season Vote

by genome » 05 Apr 2017 14:32

Get voting:

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/fans/player- ... n-2016-17/

Added a poll with all the options in the above page (even if some of them are laughable) so you can say who you voted for.

Liam Moore, hands down.

Honorable mentions to Al-Habsi, Kermorgant and McCleary.

I never thought I'd say it but I think CountryRoyal has had a good one, certainly mastered the gifs.

Tadcaster Royal probably the outside shout.

I voted Liam Moore expecting it to be a landslide for AAH (AAAAAAGGGGHHH!). Surprisingly he's not in the lead. Guaranteed to win the official vote.

Al Habsi is the obvious and, dare I say it, correct choice

His distribution has been a bit shoddy at times, and i can see why people are going for Moore, but on balance i reckon Al-Habsi has contributed more points to this team by going above the expected than any other. If he'd scored as many goal as he's made improbable saves we'd not even be having the conversation.

Ali's catching up.

Has any club ever voted a goalkeeper as player of the season 3 times in a row?

Steve Death won it 4 times in 8 years, although only twice in a row.

David de Gea has won it three years in a row at United.

Hard to pick an odd man out from AAH, Moore, Kermorgant and Swift. Went for AAH in the end.

al habsi
Moore second- definitely th ebest buy of the summer.
kermorgant making a huge push for it though which he will get if this run continues.

Kelly for young player of the season

As we have seen in the previous 3 seasons, you can't have a decent team without a proper striker. Kermorgant has made such a difference. You could, of course, say the same about goalkeepers, central defenders, etc. And you'd be right. But the striker position is the one we've been so lacking in - without Kermorgant's goals and ability to win aerial challenges, we would be mid-table. He gets my vote.

Funny if Swift wins the league vote for YPOTS but loses the fan one.

Kermie for me hands down: even more so in this final quarter of fixtures. He leads by example at both ends of the pitch and is impressively fit and motivated/hungry for an older player. He never loses his temper, rarely gets carded and yet does not shy away from crucial tackles. He exudes quality and experience and to me is a true professional.

TOp 3 nailed on, but McCleary and Swift deserve a mention for their form pre-Christmas. McCleary was the player of the first half of the season for me

Would go Moore personally. I think he has been the real difference maker for us this season. We've gone from looking soft, weak and leaderless last year to a tough determined physically strong outfit and I'd say a lot of this is down to him

Liam Moore for me. VDB is a great footballer but not been as consistent as Liam Moore, AAH, or Swifty.

Respect to Kermie too, who is definitely a class act at this level and playing every week is making him better with each week that passes.
