Saw that. I think some teams should be at home when they were drawn away.

It's needlessly over complicated

Put ALL teams balls in big bowl

Person 1: pull out one ball (they are home).

Person 2: pull out one ball (they are away)

It's completely illogical to have a 3rd ball for home/away. It makes no sense. Nothing nada, nowt zero. It's got no purpose

That made for brilliant viewing. You knew they cocked up from the start and then it was salakos reaction halfway through when he saw a large H on a red ball. Brilliant. Giggling now at just the thought of it.

Anyway, a decent draw, Millwall will add extra spice and a home game at a cheap price.

It had to be done that way because the teams were seeded. One bowl had the seeded teams and one the unseeded teams. So how else would you have decided who was home or away?

 Just complete and utter farce. They've obviously learnt nothing from the farce of the 1st round draw.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40895331

Last season's losing finalists Southampton will host Championship club Wolves in the EFL Cup second round after Thursday's confusing live draw.

League One side Blackburn host Premier League rivals Burnley in a Lancashire derby, with the draw regionalised.

Newcastle will host Nottingham Forest, with Bournemouth away to Birmingham, among six ties with Premier League sides facing Championship opposition.

The draw initially left several sides unsure whether they were home or away.

The second-round ties will be played in the week commencing Monday, 21 August.

The seven Premier League teams involved in European competition will enter at round three.

Home or away?

Amid confusion during the live broadcast, four second-round matches were announced with the incorrect team away from home.

The ties involving seeded sides Brentford, Crystal Palace, Watford and Norwich City were initially read out with the seeded team at the opposite venue.

Further compounding matters, the television hosts appeared to forget that West Ham and Newport County were guaranteed away games, owing to being unable to play at their home grounds.

The Hammers - whose London Stadium home is being used for the World Athletics Championships - will visit League Two team Cheltenham, while Newport - whose pitch is being relaid - travel to Leeds.

Confusion also reigned in the first-round draw in June, which was streamed live from Bangkok, as Charlton were drawn against two clubs, while AFC Wimbledon were also wrongly recorded as being at home to Swindon in that round.

Second round draw

South section

QPR v Brentford*
Crystal Palace v Ipswich Town*

Norwich City v Charlton Athletic*
Cheltenham Town v West Ham United**
Brighton & Hove Albion v Barnet
Cardiff City v Burton Albion
Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Fulham v Bristol Rovers
Milton Keynes Dons v Swansea City
Birmingham City v Bournemouth
Reading v Millwall

North section

Carlisle United v Sunderland
Bolton Wanderers v Sheffield Wednesday
Accrington Stanley v West Bromwich Albion
Newcastle United v Nottingham Forest
Leeds United v Newport County**
Stoke City v Rochdale
Huddersfield Town v Rotherham United

And just how the hell are Newport in the Northern section of the draw while Burton are in the Southern section?

1:36. "Oh shit."

It`s pretty clear the host noticed the cock up after the 2nd draw but they still continued.

Wolves and Birmingham in the Southern section, while Villa and West Brom (who are geographically between the two) are in the Northern section
