Im predicting a thumping 3 or 4 nil defeat for Reading. Players are uninspired and lack confidence. Norwich will score early on and our heads will drop.

This match is a defining moment for Stams career at Reading. He needs to show us all that he has an alternative to plan A which isnt working.

genome People who were booing =/= People who want Stam out

The boos were for taking the one creative midfielder and scorer off and putting on another defender when RFC were already 0 - 1

I really can't see Norwich scoring the many.

I doubt they'll even get ten

We do have a plan B, its more that Stam hasn't utilised it early enough. Or that Plan B should actually be Plan A

The Hull game showed to me that Plan B (i.e. Wing backs + Bod) is far more effective than what he is starting with

genome Not sure about Pardew. But I'm certainly not one to say never due to the circumstances he left in, as that's childish IMO

Who else is out there?

I heard Sir Steve Coppell was sitting next to Brian Trevenden at Millwall............. :|

PS I think I could just about forgive Judas after all this time

Big Daddy
Bacuna

The result to kick start the season (I hope)

genome It will categorically not be Parkinson.

Why not? In charge of a sinking ship at the moment - he'd love to come

I can see it now.

Yongge: "So, we've gotten rid of Stam. Who shall we look at?"
Gourlay: "Well, there's this bloke in charge of Bolton who has lost his last 7 games in a row without scoring."
Yongge: "Sign him up!"

It would be Parkinson wouldn't it. I'm not sure he's any better than a manager who came within a whisker of the Prem last season.

Why's everyone having a meltdown - he was right - if you wanna boo then don't go. Let's get on with it.

He's right that people who only turn up to be negative should feck off. Although he's wrong to say it openly in that way. But, I'd bet a larger number of those being vocally discontent against Hull aren't accurately described by that. They're people who will be positive, or at least quiet, if you give them something acceptable to watch.

Personally I was frustrated with those booing Gunter just before he went off. That last dawdle and pass back and nothing to do with him and everything to do with his team mates, none of whom were in about 50 yards of him to enable a decent positive pass. I'll admit I lost my shit a bit at that point, but I shouting at his team mates to fuking show for him.

Clown. How about "we need to go with a club legend, who was that bloke who took a League One side to a Wembley Cup Final".

I love him but he has been found out at this level more than once. It's a non-starter.

Parky should be the first, last and only manager we go to if we get relegated to League One. Other than that, not until he demonstrates he can cope at this level, let alone take us up to the PL.

I love him to bits, but we're better than him I'm afraid.

Ok, thanks both. Who would you like to see replace Stam should we require one?

Karanka would be worth a shout but let's give Stam some more time first.
