No guarantee academy lads would 1) be played and 2) be good enough.
If we go down it could get considerably worse before it gets better. Would Yongge then consider pulling the club?
We mustn’t go down.
If he goes all the better. He's not going to fold the club. He's not an asset stripper, we're a toy. There'd be a buyer.
It may get much worse before it gets better. It could qlso get much better quickly. And if we stay up it could remain utterly shit.
We've already been total toss for most of almost 10 years.
Would there be a buyer? We struggled to get someone to buy the club when Madejski was owner and we were in a far better state then. Yongge also has a track record when it comes to clubs folding.
There are people interested in buying Derby, who are in debt to multiple 3rd parties and may end up having to settle with Boro and Wycombe to even get out of admin.
The club is only in debt to the current owner, so all it should come down to is how badly they want to sell and how much or over how long they would expect their money back.
Going down will not be an answer, it just won't - the gap between the Champ and L1 is also now growing to the extent that clubs coming up from there are now struggling to get a foothold back in the Champ. You generally see a couple struggle (see Hull/Peterborough) and one do OK (Blackpool), going down completely reframes the ability of the club to compete at this level esp. if you are down there for a few years.
If it happens, it happens, I'll still watch and hope we compete but I would much rather that this summer's reset is at Champ level.
