I know Squeaky came in for some stick from time to time on here, but this Tevreden bloke seems to go unscathed.
Who do you think is the better Director of football ?

Man drove a hard bargain and brought in some great quality cheaply that we sold on for millions.

I.e. He did his job brilliantly. Wish he was still here.

The Pardew/ McDermott/ Hammond partnership was unrivalled, which Coppell obviously exploited. Where it went wrong is that the club (Inc Hammond) kept chasing and chasing a repeat of the Doyle/Long deal and in the meantime bottled a couple of big signings. When the cost of the player we wanted went above 5 million, we were nowhere to be found and I have no doubt Hammond was in on that type of thinking.

Can't see Tevreden repeating Hammond's golden era. It's all got so much of a random feel to it.
